Legoliner Pilot Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 I searched up "Lego 7893" and I found this. Interesting, isn't it? Looks a little weird for a airliner though: what plane has high wings and rear mounted engines? Quote
Big Cam Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 I searched up "Lego 7893" and I found this. Interesting, isn't it? Looks a little weird for a airliner though: what plane has high wings and rear mounted engines? maybe it's a preliminary photo and the photoshop guy messed up? The wing on the far side actually looks a little lower. I know the depth perception is tough to determine from pictures but I kind of think it is a mistake. Quote

Legoliner Pilot Posted September 22, 2009 Author Posted September 22, 2009 (edited) It's an another version of a set from 2006http://brickset.com/detail/?Set=7893-1 I knew that.... The picture [or would-be MOC] looks cool. I haven't seen any MOCs using those huge pieces, so it is kind of exciting. Edited September 22, 2009 by Legoliner Pilot Quote

Fluyt Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Looks a little weird for a airliner though: what plane has high wings and rear mounted engines? There are plenty of planes that have high wings or rear mounted engines, a combination of both I don't know, but probably exists as well. But yeah, it does look weird, not such a great set at all. The Green Brick Giant Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 I'm still mad I never got the 2006 version because that one was huge and huniorized, but it had loads of seats and windows for only $40. Quote

There are some really nice ones. I found these two, both by the same builder, on brickshelf. (since these aren't mine, I can't rescale the pictures I'm afraid) Of course, they're still aircraft, but they look really good. They make me want to have a go at building something similar There are plenty of planes that have high wings or rear mounted engines, a combination of both I don't know, but probably exists as well. But yeah, it does look weird, not such a great set at all. I quite liked the big airliner apart from the truly terrible landing gear. I bought one at a discount last year and was pleasantly surprised. Even though it does use a lot of very large pieces that I can only see as being useful for building another quite similar plane, it was far better than I thought it would be. As my two examples show, it is possible to use them as the basis for some pretty exciting MOCs. Cheers, Ralph Quote
CP5670 Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 I passed up 7893 mainly because of the single piece wings that take up space in the interior. The other huge pieces aren't that bad as they at least add something to the looks, but those wings are just horrendous. Quote
Cavannus Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 I searched up "Lego 7893" and I found this. Interesting, isn't it? Looks a little weird for a airliner though: what plane has high wings and rear mounted engines? I assume it's simply a picture of an alternate model that were supposed to be displayed somewhere for promotion (box? instruction book? S@H?) but has circulated by error. A couple of Asian online shops use it. Anyway it's ugly and weird... Quote
Captain Genaro Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 I know that many cargo planes have high wings but I don't know about the engins . Anyways, I don't like it too much it seems a little weird . Quote
