gylman Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Starting today we have an an amazing Lego sale at S@H Canada. Oddly, I don't see the same sale in the US, which usually has the same or better deals. Ferrari Truck Building Bonanza Nearly all the new Star Wars sets Piraka Exo Force Imperial Star Destroyer The new Airplane All the 2005 Town Construction sets Most of the dinosaurs Much more At 25-50% off I've never seen a sale this broad and this good. Last time I saw stuff like this was when they posted the wrong prices, in US$ instead of the Canadian equivalent, but I don't think that's the case here. Load up Canadians!!
tophdawg Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 dang i wish the US had this sale great use for all my christmas money
gylman Posted January 5, 2006 Author Posted January 5, 2006 Whoa! Now the sale is gone! Sale was on for only about 12 hours! Back to the same old boring end-of-line items. Very weird. I wonder if this was another "mistake". Well, if it was, I hope they honour the orders they got..... I got in 500$ worth! Very unusual.
Evil Willy Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 well that sucks..I was about to go buy building bonanza! dang...
Yuppley Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 No?! I was like, 4 minutes away from ordering, grr *devil*
gylman Posted January 6, 2006 Author Posted January 6, 2006 I was going through the prices I got during this "sale". It looks like pretty much every one of the prices was the US dollar amount but in Canadian dollars. Someone at the S@H website probably screwed up again, just like last time. But I got my orders in and it looks like they honoured them. Both sets of orders (abouit 500$ total, including 2 Scudaria Trucks and 3 Building Bonanzas) are marked as "shipped" on the order tracker, although for a time one of them was "in customer service". Interesting that the Canadian dollar is at 87 cents, but Lego prices in US dollars are 60-75% of those in Canadian dollars. Even before we payour rip-off taxes, Canadians are getting quite a rip-off, although admittedly not as bad as in Europe or (shudder to think) Australia.
