Forresto Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 Hey, isn't that my pic? :(Oh well, I guess anyone can go copy/paste from the amazon zoom-in... ;D Sorry should've gave credit I suppose but I guedd I was too excited about my joke Quote
squidman85 Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 If in the 2009 the main colors in the Power Miners were light-green and orange,in the 2010 will be light-green and blue I like like all sets, except Monster Catching machine.Orange Lava monster is be in three sets(like Glaciator). That's not very good. Algernon Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 Actually, I really like the way PM 2010 is looking right now... which surprises me because I think 2009 was severely lacking. Quote

These look just as average to me, especially the cage, but I do love the little water rover one. Batbrick Away! Quote
The Crazy One Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 (edited) I thought this was interesting, I don't think it has been seen before but it's a close simple pic of the new miners. At least, I think it is the new ones, I hope I'm right because they are bloody cool. Edited October 18, 2009 by The crazy one Quote

I see several smaller sets here, though, that look just as good. However I will completely agree that the cage is total crap. I mean, just look at it. Wow. As Crazy stated, though, those awesome figs might justify a purchase, even if they're the only thing that is. Quote
The Crazy One Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 I have to say, that cage shocking! But yeah, in some ways like certain Atlantis sets, the figures make the purchase. Quote
toatali Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 With its titanium scissor claw arm, the Magma Mech is the perfect tool for catching all of the pesky lava monsters, especially the Firax. Blast through rock or cool it down with the spinning water jet – just don’t run out of water, because it's a long way back to the surface. Includes one minifigure, one fire monster and mech walker. Jump over streams of molten lava with the Fire Blaster’s powerful engine and and try to put out the fiery Combustix lava monster's flames with the water cannon. Use the dynamite launcher to keep the way clear of rocks and monsters. Includes one minifigure, one fire monster and vehicle. Quote

doctordark Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 This is probably fake because I found it on brickpedia. But at least it might be something. 8188 Fire Blaster 8189 Magma Mech 8190 Claw Catcher 8191 Monster Jail 8192 Flame Machine (Summer 2010) 8193 Miner Jet (Summer 2010) 8194 Miner Steam Locomotive (Summer 2010) 8195 Rock Excavator (Summer 2010) 8196 Magma Tall Crane (Summer 2010) 8197 Lava Queen (Summer 2010) Quote

And also, I try to keep Brickipedia up-to-date with true information, but sometimes it's really hard... However, it sounds similar to the first time when 8188-8191 were translated to English from some other language and have since been changed to their respective final names. There's a chance that some of them may be real, it's just, why the big increase in number of sets from the first wave? Just my thoughts. Quote
Brickthing Posted October 23, 2009 Author Posted October 23, 2009 This is probably fake because I found it on brickpedia. But at least it might be something. 8188 Fire Blaster 8189 Magma Mech 8190 Claw Catcher 8191 Monster Jail 8192 Flame Machine (Summer 2010) 8193 Miner Jet (Summer 2010) 8194 Miner Steam Locomotive (Summer 2010) 8195 Rock Excavator (Summer 2010) 8196 Magma Tall Crane (Summer 2010) 8197 Lava Queen (Summer 2010) The names of those new sets don't really match the sound of previous sets in interesting-ness, and none of them feature onomatopoeia. Locomotive is a bit of a complicated word for a Power Miner set, Magma Tall Crane just sounds odd, and Lava Queen seems like a straight snatch from this summer's Crystal King. That said though, I'm probably biased to assume their fake, so it would be good if the original source of the names surface if they are indeed true. Quote
Oky Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Not only do these not sound like official names, but also, they don't make sense as sets. I mean, what the heck would miners do with a locomotive at the center of the earth? And what would they do with excavators and cranes? I thought the miners are done with mining and are now trying to neutralize the lava monster threat. Also, if we follow the rule of "the higher the set number, the larger the set", the Lava Queen would have to be the largest set. But that would be odd since it would have to be a giant brick-built monster. Who knows, maybe there's some truth in these, but right now I'm rather skeptic. Quote
The Green Brick Giant Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Those are clearly fake. They should add Mining TIE Fighter! Quote
squidman85 Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 It's a fake.Flame machine for Power Miners,when they watering everything? Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Maybe it is fake... But Lava queen... I would so buy this! Quote
The Cobra Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Sets 8193 to 8199 are Racers coming out in 2010. See Brickset. Quote

UsernameMDM Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Maybe it is fake... But Lava queen... I would so buy this! Especially if it would be like the Crystal King. I would be all over that like stink on a monkey. Quote

Hence Power Miners, and not Rock Repellers! Excavators and craes are a given since the boxart shows huge caverns, plus TLC never followd real logic anyhoo. Now I really want to see that Rock Queen in rock dress rockin' it out! Batbrick Away (from terrible puns)! Quote

Oh, I was under the impression they liked watching Lava monsters solidify when the came into contact with water, and didn't give a crap about the rocks anymore. And your dress pun is..........well........terrible. Ha Edited October 25, 2009 by The crazy one Quote
