Artahn Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Hey, I'm relatively new to Eurobricks. I mainly MOC with the Bionicle line (please don't hate on me,) but I tend to do more collecting than building. I live in Urban Wisconsin, so I don't have that annoying accent (don'cha know?) I'm home-schooled, so most of my human interaction isn't really interaction at all. I have pretty much the easiest job in the world. I'm basically a mascot for a tax service, so I do special events, parades and just hanging out; and I get paid $8 an hour just to listen to music and wave to cars filled with people flipping me off... So yeah, that's all I got. Hello, EB. Quote
Milan Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Hello, welcome to EB! I get paid 1.5$ an hour, worker, and I have to study for college at the same time. I can dream of that kind of job! Quote
Artahn Posted September 21, 2009 Author Posted September 21, 2009 Hello, welcome to EB! I get paid 1.5$ an hour, worker, and I have to study for college at the same time. I can dream of that kind of job! The problem is, I only work during tax service. So I do get $960 in three and a half months, which is great for a 14 year old without an allowance (because of that whole "nine hundred sixty dollars" thing), but that means I have to resist temptation to not spend it all at once... you don't have time to be tempted. You're the lucky one. Now wait, is that American money? 'Cause I was talking USD. Quote
Milan Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 No I get paid in Serbian Dinars, but I have converted it in USD. It still sucks! But at least i have a job and I am studying! Quote
Big Cam Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 LOL, great job! It's hard to be original when the forum is called "Hi I'm new" Welcome to the board, I hope you save up that $8 an hour to buy LEGO. Quote

I still have $250 I'm gonna save for Black Friday and Clearance sales. @Milan: how much does college cost over there? You must be working every hour of the day! Quote
Milan Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 @Milan: how much does college cost over there? You must be working every hour of the day! My current college cost me approx 1400 USD per year. It has 4 years. I also plan to start another one at the end of this year, which will cost me 2100 USD per year. Also 4 year. I work 5 or 6 days per week, 8 or 9 hours. My advice to you is to work and study together as long as you can survive it. Quote

I've heard of it being 20 grand a year, but considering the fact that minimum wage is 4 times what you get (maybe it's just the fact that the American dollar is worthless [i'm gonna keep an eye on the euro, and gold bars]), everything should be around that amount cheaper over there... I guess we get cheap lego because we get expensive.... everything else. Edited September 21, 2009 by Artahn Quote

Artahn Posted September 29, 2009 Author Posted September 29, 2009 I have two questions: 1.) Is there an expiration date for posts? (a time where the topic is too old to post in) 2.) Is there a place for me to post questions like these? Quote

Is there a place for me to post questions like these? Hey, welcome to EB! 1. Not that I know of... 2. After reading the Member Guidelines, you shouldn't have too many questions, but if they are unanswered, I would post them in the Website and Forums topic. Quote
WhiteFang Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 1.) Is there an expiration date for posts? (a time where the topic is too old to post in) One of our members has asked a similar question before, and its located here. Please refer to my reply in this topic for better understanding. In addition, could you kindly change your avatar into something else such as stand-still. Thanks. Quote
