Head pattern help

Hello all.

Sorry if this topic is in the wrong forum. I didn't know where to put it.

I'm planning a large LEGO project and I'll need to make many minifigs. As I'm only a Star Wars collector, I don't have many parts from other themes, and will have to buy most of them off Bricklink.

Instead of buying the parts first, and then finding out they're not what I wanted, I thought I'd ask here first.

As many Licensed LEGO fans will know, the Mola Ram head and the Ugha head from the Indy line and the Aang head from the Avatar line all have patterns on their heads. I'm trying to make ordinary people, and I was wondering whether the hair pieces I want to use will cover up these patterns.

If anyone could post a picture of

this hair piece on the Ugha head,

this hair piece on the Mola Ram head

or this hair piece on the Aang head

I'd be very greatful.

If you have both pieces, but cannot take a picture, please just tell me if the pattern can be seen.

I don't have Aang's head, but I checked the two others. The long hair does not cover the red mark on Mola Ram. The vampire hair covers up all of the pattern on the back of the Ugha's head and most of the patter on the front. It looks pretty good. Sorry I don't have any pictures, but my camera isn't handy right now.

It's a shame about Mola Ram, but at least the Ugha head's covered.

Would it be possible for you to try a top hat on Mola Ram's head, and if that doesn't work, could you try either this hairpiece, this one or this one (colour obviously doesn't matter) to see if they cover Mola Ram's mark?

If you're not too fussed about permanently altering your minifig heads you could always try using an abrasive polish such as Peek to take the markings off? I've done it before with small details such as Harry Potter's scar, Captain Rex's helmet markings etc. It works a treat. Only worth it if you have multiples of course...

That's a good idea, pedro, but I was wanting to complete the whole project without using any customised parts whatsoever. Thanks anyway.

Thanks for the tip, computerbug. I'd rather keep the blonde hair than the head, so I'm afraid that's not an option.

I take it then, that the combination I want doesn't work?

The blonde hair doesn't cover Aang's blue and the short female hair doesn't cover Mola's mark either. The Ugha's mark is still visable with the vampire hair. Mola's mark is covered up by the top hat if you look at him straight on. I don't have anymore of the pieces to tell you.

It's a shame about Aang's head, but nothing can be done about it.

Surely you can't see much of the Ugha's mark when the hair is on? I don't think that'll be as important, so that hair will do.

That's good about the top hat. I think I'll use that.

Your Welcome. Mola's head with the short female hair looks like he's wearing a red head band. The Ugha's mark is barely noticeacle. If you ever need any more help PM me.
