benny Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 FF-X7 Core Fighter First appearing in the original anime series, the FF-X7 Core Fighter was an integral part of the Federation's Project V. The fighter itself could transform from plane mode into a roughly rectangular block, in which it formed an interchangeable torso block for the RX-78 Gundam, RX-77 Guncannon and RX-75 Guntank. Developed by the Hervic Company (the designer of the FF-6 TIN Cod and FF-S3 Saberfish fighters), the Core Fighter's primary purpose was to protect the combat data from the Gundam's learning computer system, serving as an escape vehicle in the advent of the mobile suit being disabled or destroyed. The Core Fighter was armed with four 25 mm machine guns mounted in the nose, and two small missile launchers mounted on the fuselage, and was capable of engaging alone as a low/mid-altitude light air superiority fighter. With thrust vectoring and VTOL ability, the Core Fighter also operated as a fast reconnaissance aircraft for large carrier ships such as the White Base. The Core Fighter's most notable combat achievement was Amuro Ray destroying an airborne MS-07 Gouf with repeated direct hits. This core fighter is mainly made of the brick, slope and plate!!!! Quote
steele Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 Nobody's replied yet? Then I will. :) I'm always impressed by any transforming Lego, especially when trying to re-create an existing design into Lego. Have you considered doing the GP01's core? Quote
zero1312 Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 Nice. Do you plan on a mobile suit as well? Quote
ziljin Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 (edited) This is awesome. Gundam is great. Making it compatible with a mobile suit would be incredible. Edited September 12, 2009 by lego40k Quote
Princess Muttonchops Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Great MOC benny. I wasn't sure what to make of it at first, with the mixture of colours and slope pieces, but the more I looked, the more I liked. I like all the different planes you achieve with the nose, and the transformation is neat. Great use of basic bricks. Quote
ziljin Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 It probably helps if you know what the original looks like. Quote
benny Posted September 17, 2009 Author Posted September 17, 2009 It probably helps if you know what the original looks like. Thanks for everyone's comments! Actually, this design is slight different from original core-fighter as it is limited by my limited bricks collection! GP-01Fb- core-fighter.........i am interested in it but i have to plan it in detail. Becuase GP-01FB one is most complex!!!!! RX-78-2.........oh! I also want to make it but its real size will be over 3 feets!!!! I have to collect more and more bricks and parts at first!!!! I made some simple Zaku head and wars-ship, i will show them later!
