Actually it is BA. Here's a link.

That sword has a few differences than the Damien Blade.

The bottom of the handle of the Damien has the circle indented. His sword doesn't have that.

handle on Damien blade has grooves. His sword doesn't.

Plus the hilt on the Damien blade has ball like thingies on each end. His sword doesn't.

Therefore his sword isn't the Damien blade.

Plus that sword seems to be much bigger.

I'll just wait until HK says something. Looks really different.

Fabuland up against the Redwall! Nice work, particularly on the lengthened torso and shield decaling.

You're almost right. That's a BA longsword prototype.

You're almost right as well. That was the first design of what ultimately became the Damien Blade. Here are all three prototype versions:

BrickArms_Longsword_Prototypes.jpg

From left to right: V1, V2 (design used for the Damien Blade), and the V3.

Eventually, it became clear fans, particularly Castle builders, liked the V2 for both size and detailing. The "longsword" concept was later revisited with the BrickArms Claymore. I do still like the V1, but I'm not aware of any future plans for that particular design given the Damien Blade has proven to be a true fan favorite!

Nice! A few quibbles, though:

1)Make his habit longer. As mentioned in the book, he does trip over it a lot.

2)I'd suggest using Lego's shiny sword. I always imagined Martin's sword being shiny.

Other than that, great job! I especially like the shield. How is your Abbey coming along? I checked your Flickr but didn't see anything.

Yes, I agree that the habit should be longer, I have plans to fix that.

About the sword, I looked at some pictures of Martin's sword, and in several of them the shape is like that of the one I used... but either one would work I guess.

The Abbey is in more of a planning/ researching/ part ordering stage than a building stage currently.

Thanks everybody! :classic:
