NewRight Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 (edited) I posted multiple designs on Flickr today most of them using the skeleton and crossbones pattern seen on the sails of BrickBeards Bounty and I applied the pattern to a rather large number of items that I will hopefully have printing onto fabric in the near future, but until that day I have the digital designs for anyone interested to pour there eyes over and if all goes well get in the future. I guess I'll start off basic with the original sail from BrickBeard's Bounty with out the fierce piratical symbol. (All photos link to Flickr) And next we have the sails with the piratical symbol. After that we have a few cloaks with a template not by me, but featuring the logo edited by myself. Now we have a tattered template design that I find to be much more random and also a cloak using the template with the Jolly Rodger. And lastly we have a set of flags with the Jolly Rodger. You can see them all on flickr. I also plan on continuing this into other themes such as Castle, Imperials, Space and anything else depending on how well-liked the designs I have now go. Scroll down for additional designs including more capes and torso stickers. Edited September 25, 2009 by NewRight Quote
PrincessAriana Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Great work Amanda. Really love the sails and the skulls rock even though I hate skulls lol. Quote
Hound Knight Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Great work Amanda. Really love the sails and the skulls rock even though I hate skulls lol. You mean Zack don't you? Nice work, are these your first try at designing such items? Quote
NewRight Posted September 7, 2009 Author Posted September 7, 2009 It's Zack and I'm glad you both liked them. I even decided to try a few more. And yes they are my first try and I'm hoping to get some printed out on cloth in the next week or so. Quote
Hound Knight Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 I like all of 'em except the Dragon Masters cape... maybe it would look better if you just used the dragon, without the shield? Quote
NewRight Posted September 13, 2009 Author Posted September 13, 2009 I like all of 'em except the Dragon Masters cape... maybe it would look better if you just used the dragon, without the shield? I didn't really like how the Dragon Masters cape turned out either, but I did manage to try working on some decal designs. Be gentle its my first try. Pirate from creativity set and variations. Imperial and variations. Red vs. Blue Torsos: And the other variations of the Imperial torso. Bonus Pirate. Currently in the works of making more variations. Quote
Rick Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Nice work on the torsos. Now that I see these, I actually think the yellow trim looks much better than the blue one on the new redcoats. I also prefer the yellow trim over the red one on the bluecoats, so if TLG makes new bluecoats in the future, I hope they choose a yellow trim (unlike the bluecoats in the Lego Battles game). Quote

Captain Blackmoor Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 Looks great! Nice job on those decals. One minor point though: perhaps it's handy to make the upper corners of the decals less angular. Quote
LuxorV Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Great job on these decals, NewRight And it seems to have earned you something LuxorV Quote
Captain Blackmoor Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Congratulations matey. What program do you use for your decals? Quote
NewRight Posted September 25, 2009 Author Posted September 25, 2009 (edited) Congratulations matey. What program do you use for your decals? Thanks! I use GIMP for all of my decals (Coloring, main bulk of the design) and then I correct any stray lines in Photoscape. I've also got a couple more suit designs. A new title to this topic as well. (If its okay with the Mods.) I'm hoping on posting all my decal and cloth designs here. Edited September 25, 2009 by NewRight Quote
LuxorV Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 A new title to this topic as well. (If its okay with the Mods.) I'm hoping on posting all my decal and cloth designs here. Very good idea. I always prefer a decal maker to group his/ger decal designs in one topic as much as possible. It limits the number of single topics and saves the others some time when looking for a single artist's works. LuxorV Quote
Captain Blackmoor Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Those are great NewRight. Have you tried to apply them on a minifig? I still think the upper corners are too sharp, shouldn't you make them more round? Quote

I still think the upper corners are too sharp, shouldn't you make them more round? I agree about the sharpness of the corners. I'll work on touching it up for the next batch of decals. As for what they look applied as stickers I have... And as waterslide decals I have... Quote
NewRight Posted October 9, 2009 Author Posted October 9, 2009 (edited) Here are an attempt at the recent Atlantis decals. Unfortunately all I have are the legs of the explorer. They can also be found in my BrickLink store as well. EDIT: 'Scuse the double post. Edited October 9, 2009 by NewRight Quote

Admiral Croissant Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 All very nice decals! Pirate decals are always welcome. I see that a lot of your decals are modified 'real' torsos, are you also planning to make some more completely self-made torso's? Quote

I see that a lot of your decals are modified 'real' torsos, are you also planning to make some more completely self-made torso's? I do have one self-made torso in the works. Its actually based off one of my own shirts: I just usually find making and modifying official torsos somewhat easier than coming up with some of my own ideas. The shapes are planned, colors, etc. Quote
