Zarkan Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Okay, here's the pictures of my modified Tarix, as promised. Sorry about the semi-bad photography - these are the first pictures I've taken in my new home, and it'll take me a little while to get a good setup. Frontal view. As you can see, the main improvements are rather obvious - the weapons are now far more realistic in their positions, the color scheme has been improved, and the body has been beefed up a bit. Side view, showing off how I fixed the position of his water blades. Also, I don't care what anyone says about the shoulder spikes - I love them and I think they're easily one of the best parts of the non-modified set. Back view. I added a spare Roborider head to the back to make the waist less skinny, and the body is now a technic pin higher. The construction is a lot more complex than you'd think from this shot - it had to be in order to both make the body taller and keep the armor on the front. Closeup of the body and head. Since I wanted to keep all the gold parts, I decided to bulk up the armor by adding some blue technic tubes and one of those v-shaped parts to the body. The rest of the blue comes from a bunch of blue 1x2 plates that I put wherever I could. Overall shot with Gresh, who is also modified a bit (Mainly just the arms, which I swapped out for Metru legs, and the body, which no longer has that obnoxious gap in the middle). Together, they can fight as allies, or.... ...as competitors in the Arena Magna tournament! Comments and questions are appreciated, as always. Quote
Ikki o' Moopyville Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 (edited) Ahh, I like this. My main bug with Tarix was always that I felt he needed more Mata blue -- this helps, certainly, though LEGO producing limbs in that color would be a great step too. I like how his body seems more solid, too, and system pieces are always a great touch. He could, perhaps, use some different lower legs, though I ain't sure what they could be. We need more limb molds... And now I actually want to go out and get Tarix (and 7 other Glatorian) just so I can experiment on him myself. =P -Ikk Edited September 6, 2009 by Ikki o' Moopyville Quote

But yeah, I totally agree that we need some new limb molds - we haven't gotten any since 2006, for crying out loud! Edited September 6, 2009 by Grevious Quote
prateek Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 I like the use of the blue plates and the blue tubes at his chest Quote

On the hollow metru arms: have you ever thought of adding one of the gold bohrok eyes from Brutaka? I'm thinking you could also do this with Pahrak eyes for Gresh. Just a suggestion Quote
