Vaders_son Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 Hi folks, I am planning to go to Legoland Germany on Monday september 14th and need some information, I hope you can help me. Is there a PaB wall? I also heard they sell fabric-new parts by weight? How much are those bricks? And how is the part selection? Rare colours etc?... Are there special events/sales like in normal Lego Stores and if, does anyone know about them for september 14th? Thanks for your help! Benny
spade450 Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 I had a chance to visit Legoland - Gunzberg back in June. It was great! Schools were still in session so the park was pretty empty no lines for anything and lots of great Miniland pictures with no (real) people in the background. There is a Pick-A-Brick at Fabrik. My recollection is that the price was 8 euros per 100g, which seemed expensive to me. Weigh your selections often as the grams add up quickly -- what I thought was about 100g was actually 400g when I checked out. Variety of bricks was better than at a Lego store but not as good as I would have hoped for Legoland. The Lego store in the park had some items on sale but most I could get cheaper at U.S.S@H. Good luck and have a great time!
Vaders_son Posted September 7, 2009 Author Posted September 7, 2009 Thanks for your help mate! Seriously 8 euro per 100g? 1kg is going for about 10 euro on Ebay! I would consider that a rip-off! Any other place I can buy Lego there? What's with our German members? Never been to Günzburg?? Benny
Dfenz Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 There is a crate with miscellaneous Lego in the sales tent behind the 4D cinema where you can cram Lego into containers for more reasonable prices. Selection won't be as good and you'll have to rummage but you never know what you might find. Discounted sets also available there. At this time of year the selection mightn't be as great as earlier in the season, at least that's what I've noticed previously when visiting in October. There are several other shops in the park selling sets, accessories, clothes etc. If you're coming from Munich direction remember there's a Lego store in Munich with PAB. I usually take a detour to there en-route from the airport to Gunzburg as its accessible from the ring road A99 and the A94.

I'll make sure to check that sales tent maybe there are some useful parts to find. Are those parts new or used? I will come from the other direction, but maybe I'll expand my detour and make a stop at Munich Lego Store too. Benny
Holodoc Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Hi Benny! As you may have noticed, we stayed in Günzburg during our last event in may. Check at the event topics to read about that. Seriously 8 euro per 100g? 1kg is going for about 10 euro on Ebay! I would consider that a rip-off! Yes, it's 8€/100g, but in contrast to ebay it's brand new bricks. The variety is a lot bigger than in the PaB-walls at the stores, but rare colours are rare at the Fabrik, too. If you're looking for basic bricks (for example tan 1x... bricks) this is the place. In may they had doors, fences and that sort of stuff, too, but don't expect very unusal bricks here. Any other place I can buy Lego there? Yes, there is a big city store right behind the main entrance on the left side. You'll get all the actual sets, but without coupons (Merlin annual pass) you won't get any special offer. Hey Dfenz, thanks for your tips. I'll make sure to check that sales tent maybe there are some useful parts to find. Are those parts new or used? The parts are all new, but I heared over at 1000steine.de that one member said he got slightly dirty bricks as well. We bought a lot of bricks there as well in may - we didn't have any problems. But once again - the price is not as "hot" as it used to be. Think carefully if this is a bargain or not. It all depends on the bricks you are looking for, of course. I will come from the other direction, but maybe I'll expand my detour and make a stop at Munich Lego Store too. If you have been to the PaB in Legoland you definitely don't have to visit the Lego store at Reim Arkaden in Munich. It´s not worth it. Shoot me a PM if you need more information.
Legoking Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 I had recently went to Günzburg LegoLand, and it was pretty cool. In the Pick-a-Brick store, you can get these special Fabrik bricks, that you can only get there. And the prices for pick-a-brick are a bit expensive. 8 euros per 100g. Also, you can make your own minifgis. I think they are like $2 USD each. And a special thing you can only get in Günzburg LegoLand I think that I got is a "Glue Finished Limited Pirate Model", located in the giant lego store on your left when you enter LegoLand. Hope that helps! LegoKing
