5150 Lego Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 Again, i was scroling though peeron, and came aross these two sets. After But after carfull examination, i can't see the differnce between the two. They look identical, and i believe even have the same number of pieces, so what gives? Are they in fact the same? If so, why did lego come out with two identical sets with different set numbers? 8439- http://peeron.com/inv/sets/8439-1 8464- http://peeron.com/inv/sets/8464-1 ??? *wacko* Quote
indyj19 Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 Hi one is a rerelease of the other just like the technic crane was rereleased Quote
gylman Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 Like Indie said. Rerelease. They did the same with the crane (8431, 8460). Quote
5150 Lego Posted December 30, 2005 Author Posted December 30, 2005 Thanks for the reply guys. I'l lprobbly be adding this one to may collection soon. Quote
gylman Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 This is one of the very few technic sets that "do something" (I don't care so much for cars, but forklifts, cranes, trucks, etc, I love) that I don't have. It's really only obtainable through eBay or Bricklink, and the prices are quite excessive, probably because it has an airtank (which is good). Maybe I'll build it out of spare parts and Peeron instructions one of these days. Cheers Quote

Cheers You and i have the same taste in techinc set glyman! :D I too prefer sets with function over form (but there are a few exceptions ;) ) Construction being my favorite. Iv'e seen the air tank in a couple sets, but don't have one of my own yet. Is there an advantage to having one hooked up? I have a contact over seas that speacializes in discontinued sets, so i'll have to see if he has this one in his store. Quote
