ACCURATEin Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 The everlasting pink hotel project is getting close to completion. As always, there will forever be something that can be changed, modified, moved around, or scratched from any Lego build. We came up with a name for the hotel as well! 'The Pink Dolphin Hotel' After a quick google search, we discovered there are a few rare albino bottlenose dolphins in the world, which appear pink in color. It was a perfect match! Also included with the hotel is a working elevator. I hope to use the mindstorms program to control the elevator. A video as always will follow! Here are a couple photos and a flickr link to the rest. Enjoy! http://www.flickr.com/photos/38995932@N02/...57622201772806/ Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Fantastic AC! I'm not a real fan of pink, but you've made it work exceptionally. I remember when you first started this project (I think I blogged it in fact). This looks great. I'll have to check out all the little details. Quote
BillytheKid Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Indeed very cool to look at. And pink isn't mine favourite color too. With a real working lift. Good job . Quote
samthelegoman1 Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 If Lego made a set like this, it would fit in great with Paradisa! Quote
BlueBard Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 That's a magnificent work with pink, and a wonderful tribute to the classic Paradisa sets! Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 I think a certain Ambassador *cough* Copmike *cough* is going to book a room soon. I like it, it is a very interesting looking building in a nice scale and you sure couldn't miss it after a night on the town. What i like most though, are the uneven sized, but high palm trees in front of the building. Quote
Davey Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Awesome!!! I love the color scheme and this is just a great overall build. I especially love the fountains and all of the palm frond work. Excellent design and I can't wait to see the working elevator. -Dave Quote
Milan Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Wow, that is magnificent. Cool and big. Great one! Quote
Section8 Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Great work! I've been waiting to see this finished ever since you posted pictures of it being built. Quote
prateek Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 (edited) That's great. I like the new bridge and the addition of the beach I want to be the first customer Edited September 1, 2009 by prateek Quote
ACCURATEin Posted September 2, 2009 Author Posted September 2, 2009 Thanks for the comments everybody! If I order about 12 more of the 6x16 plates, the main tower will be able to reach 10 levels. There are enough leftover pieces to make that happen. With this build i'm hoping to inspire a few of the female Lego builders. I'm about to start working at the brand new Lego store that just opened a month ago. Hopefully I will be able to display this hotel so everyone can see it. It will serve more of a purpose there than in my living room. Quote
Big Cam Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 (edited) WOW, that's the most pink Bricks I have ever seen. Awesome hotle regardless of color. I like it! It just hit me, this reminds me of the hotel on the island in the Gamecube Game Mario Sunshine. It's the same basic setup just much bigger. Awesome Edited September 2, 2009 by Big Cam Quote
Marko Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 WOW an elevator Now I know why some of the pink pices are quite rare and expensive at BL lately Very impressive and expensive for mini figures I suppose to stay there. I have been long time waiting some Paradisa spirit MOCs and yours is very good. Quote
Madame Du Bricky Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 (edited) Mon Dieu! All the pink! This is amazing and very pretty. I would love to book a week here! I love your revolving door and the fountains are also very nice! oh and here is your pink dolphin! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics...in-US-lake.html Edited September 2, 2009 by Madame Du Bricky Quote
