ParallaxScroll Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 This will be my very first LEGO Monorail setup. The package I got included *6990 Monorail Transport System, complete *6347 Airport Shuttle/Monorail Accessory Track, complete (note: NOT the 6399 Airport Shuttle set, only its companion expansion pack) extras *monoswitch 2774 *2x straight short 2670 *4x straight long 2671 *4x curve long 2672 This will allow me to build any LEGO configuration that shows 6990+6347, plus a few extensions to that. I may probably not be able to build any LEGO track configuration showing 6990+6921 because I don't have the 6921 Accessory Track. However perhaps the extras I have will allow me to do 6990+6921, provided I have every part that came with 6921, but I'll have to check Peeron for an inventory list. My next purchases will include 6399 Airport Shuttle, another 6990 and 6921, as and when I can afford more. For now, I'm just getting started with my 6990 with the ability to expand to some extent with 6347, plus extras. My dream is to expand enough to the point where I'm able to build the massive monorail setups that I've seen in various youtube videos. Quote
CP5670 Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Looks good. The extra track pieces you got are actually exactly the ones in 6921, with the addition of the switch. All you need are the black supports and 1x4 gray connecting plates. Post some pictures once you get a layout together. Quote
Eldervampire Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 That is awesome. Can't wait to see the layout. I'll eventually get a monorail once the econemy gets better over here. Congrats, and cheers Quote
Holodoc Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Congrats on your buy, PS! Monorail are always a great fun, especially when you have a lot track. I recently built a track combining the two rooms of my sons. That was a lot fun! I would think over buying 6399 again. If it's for the track only you'll find a lot cheaper possibilities to buy them. This set is awesome but the price also. Have fun in playing with your new acquisition and don't forget to share some photos when you're finished with your layout. Quote
