The Cobra Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Lego adds hundreds of machines <- click to read full news Too bad those bricks are NOT Lego! LEGO blocks used to study nanoscale arrays <- click to read full news I don't think they used that fake concentration camp set. Quote
Stauder Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Oh yes, UPI 100 Years of Journalistic Excellence. Shows that people who set-up the article are clueless as to what they doing, or where feeling evil. Stauder. Quote
Dr Kilroy Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 I hate these articles about Lego, which popularize false informations, which are completly obvious (at least for we, Lego fans )!!! Very good topic, I wait for next articles! Quote
The Cobra Posted August 28, 2009 Author Posted August 28, 2009 I was just looking for Lego on google news, and opened a few links. Quote
Front Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 (edited) The quality of the bricks look excellent in this picture shown, which indicate that we surely must be looking at the Lego bricks in double linear size, the so called Duplo bricks. .... and btw. I see the quality in the smoothness of the surfaces, depicted in the reflection on the side of some of the bricks. Edited August 28, 2009 by Front Quote
Front Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 And the second photo. Well this just shows why fans should not put a Lego logo on their mocs, pretending it to be a real Lego set. The picture of this box I think was discussed some years ago, due to the historical events shown on the box. This is not a Lego product. Quote
Derek Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 That irritates me that they used the Concentration Camp fake set in that news story...it will most likely offend some, causing them to think badly of the company if they aren't familiar with the brand. As for the first story, those are Duplo bricks. Maybe they aren't the classic bricks, but at least they aren't a fake set or Megabloks... -darthperson Quote
puddleglum Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Not sure what the problem with the first one is, LEGO calls those "LEGO DUPLO bricks." I think it's a perfectly appropriate picture for the story and the caption "The popularity of LEGO toy building bricks remains strong." I am sure that LEGO would agree that DUPLO bricks would fall into the category of "LEGO toy building bricks". Quote
prateek Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 The first picture is Duplo and I think the second picture was a prototype or something. Quote
Stauder Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 The second one was a MOC, then made to look like a real set. Lego has no intention of going violent, why would they make a Concetration Camp set? Stauder. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 It was an art project. It had no artistic value, it was made merely to be contraversial. Quote

Dr Kilroy Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Do you see it? He's a Pole!!! I'm ashamed. And it's something worse - he glued and strucked bricks! Quote
The Who Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Found it.Thanks.Pretty weird that a Jewish Museum, of all places, would want one of those as a display. That page also says there is a book about people who don't believe the Holocaust actually happened. They must have looked for 'gullible' at least once in the dictionary.
