gambort Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 I'm running a weathering challenge over at the Flickr trains group and thought I'd share my own 'entry' here. It's set 4536 after 18 years of hard running. Quote
JCC1004 Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 I saw some toy die cast cars that were some wrecked up classics. I thought they were cool. It looks nice and achieved. We should have a weathering contest for any set. Take any Lego set and weather it. The rust bricks are a nice addition. The different grays also give it a weathered look. Davey Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Nice work Gambort! I love the weathered look. The idea of using the light blue to simulate the paint fading is great! I should really look into doing some of this for my layout to give it a little more realism. Great work and thanks for sharing! -Dave Quote
gambort Posted August 29, 2009 Author Posted August 29, 2009 Thanks guys. I think the sand blue does make a nice weathered blue. It's a shame there's not an equivalent for red but yellow could be weathered to tan and light yellow. Tim Quote
BillytheKid Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Great idea and I think your design did just what you had in mind. Good job . Quote
missouri_bb63 Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 (edited) Very nice! The aging is quite subtle. This would add realism to any layout. Edited September 6, 2009 by missouri_bb63 Quote
