WesternOutlaw Posted December 28, 2005 Author Posted December 28, 2005 I never purchased any of these sets although I remember seeing them in stores. They were very nice sets and I wish I had a few. I esp. like the green figs and hats. Quote
SuvieD Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 Forestmen the sets or the figures are my favorite. They were great for girls or boys to play with. Were more about adventure and the merry life than the war mongering knights. Playful and at times executing punishment to the oppressors of the LEGO castle life. Robinhood inspired and clothed in Lincoln green the forestmen traveled though the forests building well hidden bases and robbing those who taxed over hard. Besides who could think to best Robin with bow or blade? I have outfitted my forestmen with weapons of the wood and will have to get a picture up for you to see them in all there green wonder. Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted December 28, 2005 Author Posted December 28, 2005 I really missed out on these and never had an interest in buying (until now). As I look at these sets, they're awesome. Looking forward to some of your pics. Quote
snefroe Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 they're really great! i don't have any, the dark age was falling upon me... in fact, i discovered some in a catalog only recently, like set 1974. 6079 looks pretty unfamiliar also... come to think of it, most are still a mystery to me... Evil Willy Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 They are all absolutley stunning arnt they? I wish LEGO could make stuff like this still, for al lthese sets are soo wonderfully complete and put together in a way 2006 could never imagine.... Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted December 28, 2005 Author Posted December 28, 2005 Definately. With all these specialized pieces and technology, Knight's Kingdom just doesn't come close to these sets. What's wrong with Lego. Why can't they make sets like these anymore? Classic Castle was the best! Viking is good, but just doesn't have the appeal that these classic do (at least for me). Quote
SuvieD Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 Behold the merry men (and women) of Brickwood Forest. Forestmen A score of men are not outfitted in full Lincoln green yet and haven't yet recieved arms (weapons that is). They are new recruits and it will take a while before I make the time to get them ready. When all said and done i should have about 75 or so. Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 I must shamefully admit not owning even a single set of this great theme :| Quote
Christian Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 The only set that I own is 6024 Bandit Ambush, but I would really ahve liked some of the older ones. But I never had the chance, because they were discontinued in 1990 (the year in which I was born). Quote

I wish I had a few of these. Quote

WesternOutlaw Posted January 7, 2006 Author Posted January 7, 2006 Take out those men in green tights! They're way to merry, even for our forest. *knight* Quote
SuvieD Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 "You three, run to the Wolfpack tower. Get Lord Lupis. Tell him to release the pack. The kings men are coming." I will not let you stop this merry party! If I get a chance I will picture my Wolfpack also. Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted January 8, 2006 Author Posted January 8, 2006 Please share. I'd like to see them. Quote
Djole Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 This was when my love for LEGO began... I've got 6077 Forestmen River Fortress,and...I don't know what how you say,but it was love on first look... serioslly,I think Forestmen is one of the best themes LEGO ever made...maybe the BEST ONE.... Sadly, now I own only some remainings of my first set...and some figs.... They're my favourite... I'm cryiing for FORESTMEN :'-( ...Please LEGO give us back some forestmen theme,or re-release some sets... They certainly should be the LEGENDS... Greetings from Serbia Quote
