David Thomsen Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 I've already contributed to the Pirates wish-list thread and the City wish-list thread, and was going to contribute to the modular building wish-list thread... but couldn't find one. The closest I got was 'predictions', which isn't the same thing at all. So I thought I'd start my own thread, which can of course be deleted if there already is a thread for this topic. * Before the fire station was announced, I was hoping there would be an old-fashioned police station in dark blue. I actually started designing one myself before I gave up. Now that there's a fire station, however, I'm not so interested... I'd hate for my modular city to turn into a large-scale regular lego city, i.e. dominated by police and fire and other emergency services. Maybe later down the track? * A library/book store would be awesome. It could have an open plan so you can stand at the bannister on the second floor and look down to see the first and ground floors. (When I say 'you', I mean your minifigs of course). It would be a sophisticated companion to the other buildings. * An embassy. A rich-looking white building with pillars and classical architecture and flags hanging from poles outside. As you can see, I'm a fan of things that look 'sophisticated'. It might be a little boring on the inside, though, since an embassy is basically just a big office - desks and filing cabinets and water coolers. I guess there could be a guard minifig and an 'embassador'. * A chocolate store. I started designing one of these as well, I made the layers beige, white and brown and tried to make it look a bit like a chocolate cake. I was going to use these bricks and these ones to give a nice texture. It was going to look delicious, but then I gave up... as usual. I'd also like to see more vehicles... I wasn't expecting any ever, so was pleasantly surprised by the old-school fire engine. Maybe more detailed vehicles from that era could be introduced? A dark green tram, maybe? Quote
Dr Kilroy Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Nice topic, you can post these ideas in this topic. I will like every Modular House, if it would be well designed and in nice colour. First - about colours: for me, the best colours for Modular Houses (let me call them MHs ): 1. NavyBlue (DarkBlue, etc.) 2. Lime 3. White 4. DarkOrange 5. Maybe Orange? 6. MediumStone or DarkStone 7. Blue 8. Tan 9. DarkGreen 10. DarkTan 11. DarkNougat 12. Salmon 13. Yellow 14. Teal (like in Rock Raiders sets) 15. SandRed 16. Maybe SandBlue? 17. Rust 18. Purple 19. Aqua 20. Green I have also three ideas about MHs, which couldn't be produced: 1. MaerskBlue 2. ChromeGold 3. PearlGold. And now about MHs themself: 1. Bank!!! 2. Restaurant with terrace 3. Library 4. Museum (I will build Indiana Jones museum as MH ) 5-8 or 5-12. Corner MHs, first option when you want to build one square of MHs, second when you want to build two squares of MHs 5.\ 6. \ 7. } Normal, private houses 8. / 9./ 10. Maybe Cinema? 11. Office 12. Prime Minister's home with helicopter on roof 13. Flower shop 14. Furniture shop (first floor: parquets, tiles, kitchen and bathroom furniture, second floor: bedroom, sitting room and office furniture, third room: magazine) 15. Town Hall 16. Art gallery 17. Wear shop (lots of minifig torsos, legs, accesories, lots!!! ) 18. Bicycle shop (more bicycles than in Cafe Corner ) 19. Pet shop 20. Music shop (CDs and instruments ) OK, that's all I have to say. Sorry for long post. Can Lego Ambassador give this feedback to The Lego Group? :D Quote
David Thomsen Posted August 28, 2009 Author Posted August 28, 2009 Nice topic, you can post these ideas in this topic. I kind of think of modular building sets as being separate from City sets in the same way that Star Wars sets are different from Space sets... same idea, entirely different product. Oh well... I can see why this thread doesn't exist now, no one wants to write anything in it. Quote
