5150 Lego Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 Saw this on lego fan.... http://www.legofan.org/FORUMS/ShowPost.asp...spx?PostID=3278 I got this set for xmas, and have only finished the truck portion (am going to tackle the crane section tommorow (man this is a long, but fun build :-D )), soi haven't actually tried extending the arm myself yet. Iv'e also inspected the bricks, and the "hairline fractors" that he's talking about seem to be small scatches instead. Iv'e never had a problem with my gears striping, or breaking in the past, but iv'venever hooked them up to motors with heavy loads either. I'd think the'd be able to handle just raising the arm. Anyways, just thought i'd share this with anyone who has build this set, and have also came across this problem. Quote
gylman Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 I have the set, used it quite a bit. no problems. Quote
Ickelpete Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 I have had this set since the summer and had no problems with it. there are clutch pieces to protect the gears as the arm raises and lowers. It even survived 2 seven year olds and a 4 year old playing with it without any damage. :'( Quote
