I went into WH smith's today (a book store for people outside the UK) and they had a wall of lego sets.

There was only the small sets (admittedly my local smiths is quite small) and some were quite overpriced (clone battlepack for £13  )

Do you really expect a stationary shop to sell Lego sets cheaper than say Toyrus or Woolworths used to?

Are you sure its not from another store, Say someone tryed to steal it but decieded to dump it.

obviously he/she did. they dumped a wall of sets from star wars, power miners and city and even put actual smiths price tags on the boxes.

Wow, Thats a incredibly smart way to hide it isn't it. He proberbly waited behind the wall of Sets and pounced on a employee, stole the sticker maker and quickly printed them out. And then placed the evidence on the shelf.

And if your going to get sarcastic, Have a point. It helps. Here I was offering a alternative to why they might be in a Stationary Store, And here you are being ignorant by being sarcastic towards me.

The reason why the prices are high is because theres a brand new thing, no one has ever heard of it, Its called the "Credit Crunch", I know, it sounds spooky doesn't it. Not everything in this world is cheap. :hmpf_bad: And yes, Sometimes in life you have to spend something called "Money".

I'm glad more stores in the uk are doing LEGO, Early Learning Centre also now stock it.

When the first SW LEGO sets came out, I bought my first one from Smiths - so they have been known to stock it in the past.

Thanks for the tip-off. Hopefully it will go some way to alleviating the loss of Woolworths as regards finding LEGO on the high street.

I didn't mean any offence by it. in retrospect I should have put something similar to what Darth Legolas said. It was quite funny after seeing the wall of sets, reading your post and imagining i posted the thread about a battered clone battle pack with all the figs missing. like i said no offence meant :classic:

I was just letting people that some sets were overpriced. (CBP for £13).

I was surprised that ELC didn't stock even Duplo in the past. I don't know how many of them are left in Ireland, they shut the one in my own locality a couple of months ago.

Will have to check out WHSmith for Lego next time I'm in the UK (although perhaps they are only in Britain - I don't recollect seeing one in Northern Ireland). I found WHSmith pretty good value for books last time I was in England.
