jonwil Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 Anyone got any ideas on how to produce a scientist type minifig in a lab coat or scrubs or etc? Someone who might work in a lab where contamination is a problem (its for my crime lab) Not interested in custom decals/parts, only stock torsos and heads and stuff. Quote
Section8 Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 Well, there's this torso, the mad scientist from 1382 Scary Laboratory (as well as a few other sets). 6339 Launch Pad had a scientist, but his torso has the launch command logo on it. If you want a bunny suit (the full body containment suits), you could do any single color legs and torso, and use the old space helmets as the hood. As for heads, any number are suitable, but I suggest one with glasses, as most of us scientists do wear them Quote
jonwil Posted August 17, 2009 Author Posted August 17, 2009 I ended up using a doctor torso from one of the recent hospital sets (the ones with a stethoscope and a pocket with pens) for my coroner minifig in my crime lab (along with the peter parker glasses head) Quote
Eilif Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 Depending on the character of the scientist, you may want to use the professor kilroy head. It's a bit on the pulp-adveture/steampunk side of things, but it does have glasses and a professorial beard. Also has the advantage of being quite common and inexpensive on bricklink. A search for minifig heads in Bricklink with the term "glasses" reveals quite a few other options. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?v...P&catID=238 Here's a similar search for "lab" in minifig torsos. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?v...P&catID=485 One other thing that was suggested a while back about medical figs is to use flesh hands on yellow figs to represent latex gloves. I'm not totally sold on the idea, but it's one thing to try. All the best on the crime lab! Quote
prof1515 Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 Or you could just use the one in the Green Goblin Origins set, #4851 Quote

The doctor torso makes more sense here than my suggestions. Quote
jonwil Posted August 17, 2009 Author Posted August 17, 2009 The torso I ended up using is this one: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=973pb408c01 And for the head, the peter parker head (from the spider man lab set) Good idea on the latex gloves though, I might update my fig to use those.
