Etzel Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 I really like the different theme month that we have had here on EuroBricks so far. Train month seems to be just as good (if not better) that the rest of them. But how was I supposed to participate in this I asked myself when the news was announced? I don't own any train related LEGO and although I really admire all the great train MOCs I've seen here on EB and elsewhere, I don't have enough interest in it to start buying (often very expensive) train sets to build with. But then it struck me, I do have something that looks a little train related, the mining carts from 7036 Dwarves' Mine. And the building began... Here it is, the Dwarf Train with train station: Here we have the station by itself. The passengers are waiting for the train to arrive. There's a noble lady and the dwarf king. The crates to the right is filled with precious gems that are to be delivered to the big castle. On the balcony there is a dwarf watch keeper. And here we have the train by itself. A small but strong engine that pulls the train through the mountains. The dwarf engineer has to keep his beard short to make sure it doesn't hinder him in his work. Here you might see that the wheels on the engine doesn't touch the ground. This, however isn't a problem when the train is on the tracks. Unfortunately I only had enough wheels to build the steam engine and one passenger car. I would have loved to built a whole train with lots of different cars but that how LEGO works. You never have enough bricks Brickshelf gallery when public I hope it's OK that I posted this creation in the Train Tech forum. I know it's more Castle themed but it was meant to be a part of the train month so I figured this was the place. Mods and Admins, feel free to move it if you disagree Thank you for watching! Train on! /Etzel Quote
Sandy Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 What a fun creation! It almost looks like a amusement park ride. But if Dwarves had trains, I'd imagine it would be just like that. Quote
Brickvergnugen Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Quite clever! A new genre...dwarfpunk? Quote
Buckshot Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 It's MOCs like this that make me love Eurobricks. Creative, fun, and well-executed. Nice job! Quote
Wout Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Very nice design. Is the train not to small for the noble Lady? Or made the Dwarves them so, that Men also can take the train? Quote
Etzel Posted August 15, 2009 Author Posted August 15, 2009 Thanks everyone! Very nice design. Is the train not to small for the noble Lady? Or made the Dwarves them so, that Men also can take the train? She might have to wrinkle her dress a little. Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 Now here's a very creative MOC. I enjoy seeing builders combine themes to make creations like this. It almost has the look of an amusement park ride, especially the passenger car. Nice job! Quote
QQS Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 Station looks brilliant- I wonder if I could build something like that ;) Rock looks very realistic. Noble Lady is wonderful :) ...and of course the train. Small, but with strong engine. I like it ;) Nice work ;) Quote
