-Tilius- Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 (edited) This might be old, but new train set pic here. From http://www.stitchkingdom.com/disney-news/m...rt-2/#more-7784 And completely unrelatedly, this is also awesome. - Tilius Edited February 17, 2010 by -Tilius- Quote
Oky Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 (edited) Thanks for the links, Tilius! That's some pretty awesome stuff, especially that jetpack. Oh, and this picture is priceless! You're the man, Lasseter! Anyway, here are some hi-res pics from ComingSoon.net: 7789 Lotso’s Dump Truck (MSRP $19.99) 7597 Western Train Chase (MSRP $79.99) I wonder why Ham isn't included in any of the recent pics of the train set, and the two other characters are missing from the dump truck set. Svelte Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Thanks for the new pics, guys! Hopefully this means Disney will stop issuing takedown notices Quote
Clone OPatra Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Ucchh, Rex looks really fat and wide from the front. That is not a flattering picture. I wouldn't worry about the other characters not being in the pictures. The TRU descriptions and another description in a Toy Fair report I read definitely said that there would be that creature in the Dump Truck, and a Hamm in the Train. I can't see why they would pull Hamm out, that wouldn't make sense. I'm not so thrilled by these sets really. Though I kind of liked the look of the first wave, I only got the Army Men. I was really not thrilled about all the Chinese components, and so these just don't interest me very much. The Western Town set is still of mild interest, but to me Toy Story takes a back seat to other better Licensed themes. I'm willing to buy the SW set with the Chinese Taun-Taun, and the Chinese Wampa too since both add to a collection, but collecting a whole new theme where just about every single figure and many parts are in the Chinese baggies is not a pleasant idea to me. Oky Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Hopefully this means Disney will stop issuing takedown notices I doubt it. There were no TS3 sets at NYTF because of them, and the train seems to be the only set they showed at that event Tilius linked to. Also, there was no pic of the Trash Comactor set on ComingSoon.net because it's the climax of the movie . (There, I used spoiler tags. Are you happy now, Disney? ) Ucchh, Rex looks really fat and wide from the front. That is not a flattering picture. But that's how he looks in the movie too. What bothers me is that his legs have the same gapping holes as the wampa's arms. But at least they're not as noticeable as on the wampa. Quote
brad Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 hi, I own Stitch Kingdom so I found this thread from users visiting the link above (thanks so much for the mention by the way). Just wanted to address a couple of things you guys mentioned as a response, although I doubt I'll tell you anything you don't already know, but just to clarify a couple of things... The link above goes to an event from Disney Consumer Products which was held during the Toy Fair, but not at the Toy Fair, it was an invite-only from Disney. At that event, the only thing on display from LEGO was the train set. Disney later released the two photos you link to above with the train and the dump truck, but the reason why the dump truck wasn't on display - and why the complete set isn't shown in the released photo is because of spoiler reasons. To be honest, I was amazed Disney even released the dump truck at all, if only because one of the two (out of 5 total) Mattel Action Link! sets that weren't on display at that event was the dump truck and Chris Heatherly noted it was because of spoiler reasons. That said, all of the TS3 LEGO sets as well as the DUPLO Toy Story and CARS (and LEGO Prince of Persia) WERE on display at Lego's booth at the Toy Fair. Fortunately LEGO was able to schedule me in for a few minutes to take a look and I did get to check them all out. Obviously no photos were allowed, but I did get to take some. On the tangent, Mattel also had their full set of Action Links! on display in their private showroom but I was asked to not take any photos for the aforementioned reasons. That said, the press kit LEGO gave me didn't have any photos for the new TS3 sets, but the 2010 product guide meant for buyers (which I managed to pick up at the other LEGO Licensing booth) has information on all of the sets plus photos of the boxes (although many are marked as preliminary and confidential, so I can't really share). I posted what I could last night at http://www.stitchkingdom.com/disney-news/m...-spoiler-alert/ Sorry for being all over the place, but it's still early where I am. I just wanted to say yes, the complete set was on display at TS3 and the dump truck does include Chunk and Stretch in addition to Lotso and Hamm AS the 'Evil Dr. Porkchops' is included in the train set, they just don't want photos of the products out before the studios officially debuts such information. Truth be told, I was asked to redact a certain element from the article linked to above, but the LEGO description of the trash compactor basically confirms my original report. Quote
ILikePi Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 Yay, higher resolution pics! Sorry for being all over the place, but it's still early where I am. Great to know that Lotso's Dump Truck comes with three minifigs and not two. Also, we already know what the Trash Compactor set looks like thanks to Toys 'R' Us Canada's website. Quote
prateek Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 Thanks for the info Brad! I'm liking the Train even more now, but I'm not so sure about the Dump Truck. Quote
Reaper052 Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 That Pizza planet truck set is perfect! And now I can get hamm, and rex, and an alien for cheap in the same set. Now I'll get this, woody's roundup, lotso's truck, and the garbage truck and will have a full set of figures! I only wish it came with woody instead of buzz because then I wouldn't need to get woody's roundup (I really don't need 2 jessies or the prospector) I'm probably going to end up with 2 or 3 buzzes, maybe I should build some star command MOCs. This just made my day Reaper052 Quote
Derek Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 New pic: I thought that part was in the 2nd movie? It looks nice, I wonder how much it will cost... And Reaper052, why don't you just get the RC set for Woody? -darthperson Quote
Reaper052 Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 (edited) Because then I'll end up with yet another buzz. I'm still not sure. I'm probably going to wait until they are all out and then decide how to get the most figs for the least money. Edit: It looks like the roof folds up for rex to sit in the back but how are hamm and the alien sitting? Do you think all four will fit in the car at once? I hope so, it looks great. Reaper052 Edited February 20, 2010 by Reaper052 Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 Yes! Rex in Small set! It will be expensive at all but I think it worth it! (4 figs!) Quote
just2good Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 New pic: Yes! Was there a pic of Garbage Truck Getaway? Quote
ILikePi Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 (edited) New pic:*snip* Wow! A Pizza Planet truck! The great thing is that it comes with Rex. Now I don't have to worry about not being able to get the Western Train Chase set! EDIT: It comes with Hamm too. Sweet! Edited February 21, 2010 by ILikePi Quote

Well for those of you that don't know this is chunk. This is stretch. I'm actually very dissapointed I was really hoping we would get a lego figure of twitch. Quote
Reaper052 Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 Computerbug, they are making a Twitch figure. He comes in the garbage truck set that we haven't seen pictures of yet. I would expect to see them soon now that the Pizza planet truck has been leaked. Reaper052 Quote

-Tilius- Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 Glad to hear we're getting Twitch. We do need a Slinky though. - Tilius Quote
RileyC Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Glad to hear we're getting Twitch. We do need a Slinky though.- Tilius Agreed Slinky would be so cool! So would a Mr. Potato Head but that would be impossible . The pizza planet car I will have to get! Hamm and Rex look so great I just hope that set is cheap Quote
Oky Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Finally a pic of the pizza planet truck! Thank you so much! I've been looking forward to this one, and I can't say I'm disappointed. Too bad though that it doesn't come with a Potatohead as I had hoped, and more than one alien would have been nice, not to mention that it's totally underscaled, but it's still a great looking set. Can't wait for these to come out! Somebody remind me: Do we have any confirmed release date(s) for these? @ brad: Welcome to EB, and thanks for the info. Quote
Delta 38 Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 New pic: How ironic. I was giving up all hope on that set because I was sure it was out of my budget. Turns out it wasn't. I may need to get this and the dump truck set now... I feel really ignorant now. I was under the influence that all of the unseen sets were Duplo. My earlier posts were confusing because I believed that at the time. I probably won't be able to get Twitch. Pity. But wait, so both Stretch and Chunk are in the dump truck set? That would be great. One minifig I'd like to see would be the binoculars character. Sorry for being all over the place, I meant to post these earlier, so I'm putting them in one post. Quote
Oky Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Anyone else a tad disappointed with these sets, especially with how much they cost. I quite like the look of the claw on the set, but that's about it. I know what you mean. The Trash compactor seems to be a very <insert that tiresome argument> and somewhat repetitive build. Also, the wagons on the train look kinda short, but that doesn't bother me too much. Wait - if you're trying to collect all the characters, why don't you want the Prospector? That would be great if you would make Star Command MOCs! I don't want to be the only one making them. Or you could just give your Buzzes to me. And Reaper052, why don't you just get the RC set for Woody? Because then I'll end up with yet another buzz. Again, you can just give him to me. It's really the cheapest way of getting Woody. Besides, RC can be considered a character too. It looks like the roof folds up for rex to sit in the back but how are hamm and the alien sitting? Do you think all four will fit in the car at once? I hope so, it looks great. Probably not without having them hang out the window like on the box art or being crammed in the back. I feel really ignorant now. I was under the influence that all of the unseen sets were Duplo. My earlier posts were confusing because I believed that at the time. Glad you came to your senses. One minifig I'd like to see would be the binoculars character. Yes, Lenny would be great to get, but then again, you can easily make him yourself. He's definitely on my To-Moc list. @ Svelte: Could you please update the first post with all the new pics and info? I'll make it easy for you: 7789 Lotso’s Dump Truck ($19.99 USD) 7596 Alien Trash Compactor ($49.99 USD / $69.99 CAD) The evil Lotso is planning on getting rid of the other toys once and for all! Woody and Hamm got thrown into the garbage and are now stuck on the conveyer belt heading straight for the incinerator. Can their alien friends use the crane and claw to rescue them in time? Or will Lotso be victorious? Set includes Lotso, Hamm, Woody and alien figures, and trash compactor play set with functioning crane claw, dumpster and conveyer belt. 7597 Western Train Chase ($79.99 USD / $109.99 CAD) Time is running out! Rex is trapped in a boxcar that's packed with dynamite rigged by Evil Doctor Porkchops! Can his friends rescue him in time? As Woody fights Porkchops on the roof, Buzz Lightyear is flying in for the rescue while Jessie tries to catch up to the run-away train riding Bullseye. Set includes Evil Doctor Porkchops, Rex, Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Jessie and Bullseye figures. Train features four train cars with opening doors and roofs, and traps on the roof for more action! 7598 Pizza Planet Truck Rescue 7599 Garbage Truck Getaway ($39.99 USD / $54.99 CAD) Jessie and Buzz Lightyear are stuck in the garbage truck and are on their way to the dump. Can they escape from the clutches of Lotso and Twitch before it's too late? Set includes Lotso, Jessie, Buzz Lightyear and Twitch figures, and garbage truck hopper opens as the dumpster is lifted over the top. 5659 The Great Train Chase ($34.99 USD / $39.99 CAD; Available in May) Quote
Matn Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 It looks very much like the one in the movie, so they did a great job designing it! This is the first LEGO Toy Story set I really want to get my hands on. Mostly because of nostalgic reasons, but it looks like a very nice set and care to place in a town. Now if it only included Woody... I guess I'll have to buy that set with RC and that rocket. Quote
Delta 38 Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 I guess Lenny could be made fairly easily. Blue binoculars and an orange stud on the bottom. Is there a blue binoculars piece, though? I hope Zurg could be released in a small or medium set. Then I'll practically have every minifig. Are there any more small sets coming up? ...Hang on, Twitch is in the garbage truck set? If it's not over $40, I'm definitely getting that. Quote
