PUCI Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 (edited) This is my first post on Eurobrick ----------------------- 6335 is a product from 1996 a 4 wide truck pulling a 6 wide trailer Althought the original set is very nicely done, compare with the modern Lego vechiles, it looks a bit odd. Therefore I have come to an conclusion to modifiy the 6335. There were two options: 1. Just modify the first part of 6335 i.e. convert the 6335 4 wide truck into a 6 wide 2. Modify the whole set. In the end, I choose option 2, because option 1 seems a bit too easy.... Enough of me talking, here come the photos: ------------------------------- The repairing equipment were on the trailer part of the 6335 originally; I have shift the facility to the "Lorry" part. A storage room has also been added ------------------------------ The whole vehicle has exceed 30cm ----------------------------- Now we look at how the race cars go onto the Lorry and trailer. But, first of all, we need two "rail"s from the trailer, the rails are stored in the trailer like the original 6335 First race car: This is the connecting part, originally the lorry and the trailer were 2.5 studs apart, impossible for the race car to go from trailer to lorry. Adding two pieces have shorten the space to 0.5 stud, thus allowing the race car proceed on with no problem. The Second and The Third race car ---------------------------- As mentioned above, although the trailer top level has extended, it does not compromise the ability to turn of the whole vechile ----------------------------- The problem with 6335 is that there is only 1 seat in the truck, and there are 3 people; and I dont think the below method is the ideal way....... Therefore the lorry part has 3 seats this time, satisfing all the drivers --------------------------- This vechile is not for only transporting race cars, it can transport a 2-person taxi and also a fire jeep also a lot of 4 wide cars -------------------------------- Due to the current shortage of parts, I have to modifiy the Lorry roof (the original white roof were borrowed from the camper) ------------------------------ Something did cross my mind, I think this vechile look alike some airport fire engine and most importantly, it look awfully similar to the set 735 (From Brickshelf) -------------------------------- Conclusion When I started to desemble the original 6335, I quite worried about this project. As the design of 6335 was already good, if I modified/MOC it, it might not be better than the original. In addition to this, there were some initial design, structural problem as well. However, I am very pleased with this vechile This whole project has taken me about 5-6 days Initiall version: Now Connecting part: Old New ----------------------------- Just a bit funny...... If you notice the torture of Red figure, then thanks If not; then read below please I have posted this on a Hong Kong forum several days ago, but most if not all members did not notice the torture of the red fig, so I am going make it more obvious this time (just in case). From race car 1 getting on the lorry/trailer till the turning ability photos, there is a red fig, is not particular funny, but I think is worth mentioning. ---------------------------- Overall, this is my first post on EB, if there is any format things I have done wrong, please let me know Thanks Edited August 11, 2009 by PUCI Quote

PUCI Posted August 12, 2009 Author Posted August 12, 2009 Nice MOD! I really like how you've combined classic and new elements Welcome to EB BTW, will we see someday closer pictures of your MOC vehicles? Thanks, certainly. I was thinking of posting my MOC vechiles last year; but because those MOCs are based heavily on Hong Kong vechiles, and this is a european website, I did not think that would be appropiate at the time. However, this is a civilian vechile, so I would like to give it a try Cool first post, hope all of your posts will be this good.Nice modification, btw Thanks Great first impression. I love the MOD, it makes the set look more realistic Welcome to EB Thanks Quote
ACCURATEin Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Very nice transport! Welcome to Eurobricks! Quote
Holodoc Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Very nice MOD, PUCI! First I thought the whole thing would have been your creation, then I saw the original 6335. Yours is definitely better! I was always a fan of 6-wide trucks. Your creation fits a lot better to the 4 wide cars. But... the airport fire engine looks a bit ... weird ... regarding the colors. I´d suggest you better change everything to yellow. White and yellow looks And one last note: Try to imagine there are still people with a slow internet connection. (Thank God I´m not one of those ) Your topic contains a huge amount of (small, well done ) pictures. Almost 40! Some provide not much further information than the ones before. Fewer is more in this case. I´m looking forward to see more creations of yours. Did I say welcome already? Quote
