JCC1004 Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 (edited) Well Lego introduced a new print for the Ugha warriors. Link to Ugha. Then I started seeing it used again. Like Henry Jones's mouth was used on Indy and the smirk face. Then I saw it on the cemetary warrior. Link to warrior. It ws the same print except with out the pireceings and tattos with the skull added. Then TOD had it on the thugge with tattos and circles added to the print. Link to thugge. I hope it doesn't become as common as the Bruce Wayne head. What do you think about this? Not all these guys can't look the same so a little more diversity would be nice. Thanks, JCC1004 Edited August 10, 2009 by JCC1004 Quote
The Who Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Nice find there. The Bruce head was just a bunch of the exact same face, though. These all have at least a little variety. Quote
Tom Bricks Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 I noticed that too. Thankfully though most of those are in expensive sets so it is unlikely that they become too common. Quote
legoindy01 Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 I also noticed that. I don't think it's over used because it's not like the bruce wan head which is the same head over and over but this has come smalll changes to it which you already pointed out. Quote
posades Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 For me there is still enough diversity with the different printing that they all look like different faces. The temple guard is least distinguishable with the added face and eye paint so it's really just the same expression on 2 (so far) heads that have differing skin tones. As long as they take steps to at least attempt to spice it up it's fine with me. Quote
prateek Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 It's ok for now, but if they keep releasing the same head without any other features, that would get really out of hand. Quote
Omicron Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 I always thought this face was overused. -Omi Quote
The Alchemyst Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 I always thought this face was overused.-Omi Stole my post Omi, lol. Anyway, I don't really count them as being the same face, I mean, they're not exactly interchangeable, and they're unique enough. Problem with the Bruce Wayne face was that it was constantly used as a generic fleshie face. [-TA-] Quote
JCC1004 Posted August 11, 2009 Author Posted August 11, 2009 Ceartain details on the Bruce face are in other figs such as Indy and Henry. You can't attack the classic smiley head. It has become alot less common. The flesh has really taken off in SW. Quote

Think about it; it's like how people smile - everyone does it, regardless of ones individual features. I think that as long the designs are for the most part different, I'll be OK. Quote
JCC1004 Posted August 11, 2009 Author Posted August 11, 2009 I hope it doesn't become too common in figures. I'm fine with 3 or a 1 or 2 more, any more then 5 or 6 figures would be almost too much. Quote
Derek Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 I wouldn't have noticed this if you hadn't made this thread. I doubt it will become too much of the problem, because the variations of the face that we have seen so far are so different that they are barely noticable... I'm perfectly content with them using the same base printing, as long as there isn't another Bruce Wayne! -darthperson Quote
Svelte Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 I wouldn't have noticed either - keen spotting! It doesn't really bother me too much. As others have said, the designers have taken steps to camouflage the similarities as much as possible. The original minifig classic smiley ran for years and years so I can live with a little repetition. My Ughas aren't hanging out at the Chauchilla Cemetery with Mola's minions anyway. At least, not at the moment! Quote
