ziljin Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 Well I just digged out the old legos that I have had lying around since childhood. Lost many pieces unfortunately. Recently got into legos again when looking for a birthday present for a cousin. I purchased a Dwarven Mine Defender, and Troll Assault Wagon. I always wanted to get into WH40k, but too lazy to paint. So instead I settled for building Lego 40k. Pardon the messy table. And I hope the quality of the vehicles is good enough to post. I ordered more kits, so I intend on making a V3 of the trukk and I guess turn it into a battlewagon instead. Not too familiar with WH 40k rules/etc so I just used whatever lingo I remember. Trukk V1, The orks looted a local civilian truck, painted it red to go faster and slapped on some shootas. Side View Bit blurry but can't retake shot since its dismantled now Close up of turret Close up of the driver, no room for helmet V2. After getting the first trukk got blown up by enemy armour(which I hope to build when order arrives), the orks picked up various scraps lying around and used their great orkitecture to create a trukk to their liking. Side view pics Close up front shot, chains added in to prevent the cockpit from falling apart Back View An third ork joined up with the crew armed with a rokkit launcha to counter enemy armour New improved turret, with added dakka. And it pivots Closeup of turret Closeup of turret gunner New cockpit Close up on triple linked shootas. I Will recieve 2 dozers, 2 mine mechs, and other kits in a few weeks. So I will probably add tracks to V3 of the trukk and try to make a Killa Kan. And I guess extra tracks will be used to create a IG or Space Marine tank. Or maybe a looted tank from a rival ork clan. And I might dismantle my Dwarven catapault, troll assault wagon to make the trukk more orky. Feel free to to post c/c. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 (edited) I like some parts of the build but not the seemingly random coloration. Edited August 7, 2009 by dannylonglegs Quote
Dutch Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Humm ? This truck just seems to blocky for me but I think if you added more light gray and filled in those holes and smoth out the body it would look better. C.K Quote
ziljin Posted August 7, 2009 Author Posted August 7, 2009 I like some parts of the build but not the seemingly random coloration. Well I ran out of bricks, so I expanded from mostly red to yellow and black. Getting new sets soon. Which are mostly yellow and green. So that probably won't help much in the color department. But I intend on picking up a few fire truck sets later on for more red bricks. Humm ? This truck just seems to blocky for me but I think if you added more light gray and filled in those holes and smoth out the body it would look better.C.K Well once I get more red and black bricks, I am going to make it mostly red and black. Replace gray pieces with black if possible. And have a checkerboard camo paint scheme. And then maybe try and make some sort of pattern like a fireball or a skull out of yellow pieces in the side or something. But I am going to need way more bricks for something like that. It's going to take me more bricks and more practice to make better creations. Minor update for now. A grot has joined the boyz. Size comparison A boy has grown into a nob and may become a warboss once his crew grows large enough. Nob pics Close up of his big shoota Close up on his power klaws Grot working on the newest addition to the trukk. Quote
