Hello all. In my ongoing quest to complete and improve Technicopedia, I have started compiling a repository of LDRAW files of Technic models for sharing. You can see a sample below. Each model will contain a picture, a link to the MPD file, a link to a parts list showing the required parts, a credit to the original author of the file, and finally a list of anything which may still need to be added to "complete" the file.

The parts lists will be generated in LDView and will look like the sample below.

As I go along, I will be looking for people to make the small corrections needed to some models, or to submit those which are missing to share with others.

Let me know what you think!

I find this idea very useful, for me at least, mainly because I use Mlcad for every model, not in details, but to visualize overall shape of the model.

Also, it seems that people dislike mlcad, for its complexity and hard-to-learn interface.

Once, again, great idea!

I love the idea for a parts list for Technic sets, this is especially helpful for me as I am slowly going to rebuild all my sets over the coming months. I know there are places out there with inventory lists already, but having it all in one place is great! :)

This would be a good reference. I'll certainly check out some of them. The only model I had before was the 8459 one that comes with LDView.

I use MLCad for the same thing. It's pretty easy to learn. I think people are more turned off by it due to its outdated software renderer, as opposed to LDD. We have a nice replacement now in the form of SR3D though. I need to spend some time with it to get used to it though.
