alexandertam Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 After seeing those nice creation by michaelozzie, I want to make some myself. And I need some cavalry go with my regiment anyway... Then I though of making hussars, because I don't know how to make the helmet of others like the square hat of the lancers or the helmet of the life guards. So the brain-storming goes on with making what hussar, the Prussian Totenkopf seems easy enough for me; a skull sticker on shako, but I really don't want an odd Prussian in my collection of red and blue coats. As a result, I need to make something that is British, then I think of Captain Lossow from Sharpe's book, so I made some KGL hussar This is the front of the KGL hussar and this is the back For some reason I can't find my file for the decal I used, for more details please ask my troublesome computer After making some cavalry for my redcoats, I have to do the same for my bluecoats, to balance the two sides... so I made some hussar of the 1st regiment, because it use up the pointless pawns from the KK2 chess set This is the front view of the French hussar This is the decal I used...(luckily, this one is not lost) Finally, I group photo of the two hussar, well... they can't stop fighting for a heartbeat. :pir-skull: Any comment is welcome and appreciate Quote
Joey Lock Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 I love the way its not two pieces of Decal, Its just one! It gives a very nice touch, like they are fighting at The Battle of Waterloo! (Which the British and Coalition decisively won Quote
Admiral M Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 Those are REALLY cool decals! The minifigs look great! Do you have any horses ? I don't know that much about military, but i'm pretty sure that cavalry rode horses . Quote

They really are great decals and the background you chose for the cowvalry is pure win! I'm just wondering though why are both of them so happy? Quote
Hound Knight Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 I'm just wondering though why are both of them so happy? 'Cuz they has awesome decals! Quote
Captain Blackmoor Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 I agree those decals are very good, and well applied to the minifigs. I've never seen this kind of decals with the small "cape" over the cuffs before. I also think it would be nice if you use different heads, since the decal and shako are already nicely detailed, the face is too simple. Perhaps a musket on the saddle would add even more detail. A pole with a nice custom flag on it too. Quote

Thanks, um...I guess partly the heads I'm ordering is coming from brinklink ... another reason is, the British is happy to chase and kill the French , and that particular French loves being chase and being hit... michaelozzie Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 These are great figures. Good work on the decals too. It is always a hard figure to create hussars, mainly because of the 2 coats they would wear with the second one worn off the shoulder. If you want some hats for the troops check out www.shapeways.com and search for woodys designs. Ive found these to be pretty useful. Quote
alexandertam Posted August 6, 2009 Author Posted August 6, 2009 (edited) Again on Black Rabbit and Cap'n Blackmoor special request... first, Tea party on Battlefield... I can't quite make giant purple lady bird... a nice day to have tea, isn't it? And this is on Cap'n Blackmoor's special request... I don't understand why you have musket on hussars, don't they just carry swords and pistols? Reply to Michaelozzie, These are great figures. Good work on the decals too. Captain Blackmoor Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 And this is on Cap'n Blackmoor's special request... I don't understand why you have musket on hussars, don't they just carry swords and pistols? They carried pistols and swords indeed, but dragoons have also muskets with them. And a musket on the saddle adds more detail. Well, that's my opinion at least. Nice job on the heads. Quote
Hound Knight Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 Do you mind if I use your coat template? I will give you credit of course. Quote
