Emperor Claudius Rome Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 (edited) Jeez I'm suprised no one has made a topic for it Whats your opinion on it? Me, when it first started, it was zipity-do-da! It was funny, well animated, and sometimes, witty. I believe it's reached it golden age when in twenty oh five, it got the highest merchandising honor a TV show can get: Movie ! After that, it seemed to be getting kinda, stale. But I stayed faithful. But circa 2007, I lost 95% of the my faith for it. After I saw some disturbing "Bondage" Fanart, and video! But what do you think? Edited July 31, 2009 by Emperor Claudius Rome Quote
General Armendariz Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 This is exactly what I thought! After the movie, everything somehow, changed. It just wasnt SpongeBob anymore. It sucked! So therefore, I dont watch it anymore Im sorry but one of the ones after the movie that really disturbed me was the one were they sell stuff on a submarine they found When spongebob and patrick were leaving sponge bob says: Spongebob-Buy Squidward! Bye Mr. Krabs buy sqiudward.Patrick-Why did you say bye to squidward twice? Spongebob-I like squidward! Thats just horrible! Thats why I here most parents dont let there child watch spongebob. Quote
Tinn-man Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 This is exactly what I thought! After the movie, everything somehow, changed. It just wasnt SpongeBob anymore. It sucked! So therefore, I dont watch it anymore It's because most of the writers left after the movie, and the rest left after season 4. None of the original writers, not even the creator, are involved with the show anymore. The first ones are amazing. The new ones are awful. It's sad, but true. Quote
Luke McAwesome Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 (edited) I do prefer the animation of the modern episodes, but the stories are getting rather strange, not to mention really gross. I hate the episode "Fungus Among Us", it was so gross. Edited July 31, 2009 by Striker™ Quote

Luke McAwesome Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 I kinda liked that one. The one where Patrick was Patricia really freaked me out. That was on today! It was alright, I guess, but my favorite one is still "Where's Gary?". Quote
YG-49 Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 It was alright, I guess, but my favorite one is still "Where's Gary?". That episode brought new levels of emotion to Spongebob. Quote
Luke McAwesome Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 That episode brought new levels of emotion to Spongebob. True. That song totally made that episode. I always get it stuck in my head for days on end everytime I watch that episode. Heck, what am I saying, that episode was too dramatic. Quote
Oky Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 Jeez I'm suprised no one has made a topic for it There's no topic for it because we have a topic for all cartoon shows right here. It's only a few topics below yours, so do some searching before you create topics next time. And you lost almost all your faith in a show just because of some stupid pictures some kid drew? A little exaggerated if you ask me. Anyway, I like the show's humor. If I stumble upon an episode I haven't seen, I watch it. But it doesn't interest me enough to record new episodes or anything. My favorite episode is "Band Geeks". It was half awesome, half hilarious seeing SpongeBob and the gang getting down to "Sweet Victory", and it was good to see Squidward have his day. Quote

darkrebellion Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 Actually, I really like the SpongeBob cartoon . The humor is really good and the episodes are always different from each other in my opinion . It´s true that some episodes are kinda weird and that some scenes or phrases have a bit of double sense but it is non less hilarious . Quote
Emperor Claudius Rome Posted July 31, 2009 Author Posted July 31, 2009 (edited) Canada's version of nick, YTV, is showing the top 99 episodes. The one voted #1 is being showed today. I wonder what the kids of canada voted as #1? Also, Oky. It was "Bondage" artwork! I don't think a kid would be drawing that But I have a theory on how spongbob could be cool again... Oky Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 Also, Oky. It was "Bondage" artwork! I don't think a kid would be drawing that You'd be surprised how pre-"mature" some kids are these days. Considering how imature the point and quality of the images is, I'm assuming it was done by a teen. So, the images show SpongeBob flirting with Sandy. Big deal. I wouldn't stop liking the show even if some stupid "fan" drew a picture of SpongeBob, Patrick, and Squidward having a threesome. I mean, what does it matter? But I have a theory on how spongbob could be cool again... ... Which would be? Quote
Emperor Claudius Rome Posted July 31, 2009 Author Posted July 31, 2009 (edited) You know how Mr. Krabs says he was in the navy. He was most likely served in the underwater equivilent of World War II. Since most of todays male youth (9-14) is WWII obssesed, they could make an episode in which Mr. Krabs tells a war story. After all, acording to the ethics of modern Television: Cursing and Sex is bad! But violence is okay (I saw the South Park movie last night. That was moral at the end ) (I probably wouldn't watch it, but tonnes of Boys ages 9-14 would) Edited July 31, 2009 by Emperor Claudius Rome Quote

I never heard of anybody being WWII obsessed currently, certainly not kids. And you think that that one episode (which wouldn't even focus on Spongebob) would make Spongebob cooler? Doubtful IMO. I think it would be more likely that kids get interested in SS again if they would expand on Spongebob & the gang's secret superhero identities, considering the current superhero movie craze. Either way, I think you just have to accept that SS is "out" and that it's gonna die out soon. Therefore, it's good that Megablocks is stuck with the Nick license now. The Call of Duty craze is actually bigger umungst boys 9-14. You could ask the average 12 year old boy who were the three major Axis and Allies, and they would answer it correctly . I'm not saying I'm pro-war. But Television executives will do anything for money and ratings! But I am a fan of those "History" episodes. Maybe they could make more of them. Like a Pilgrim era Spongbob episode for a Thanksgiving special. Edited July 31, 2009 by Emperor Claudius Rome Quote
HumanPackMule Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 (edited) It's a good show, but it hasn't appealed to me as much as it used to recently. My younger sister, on the other hand, is coming into the age that Spongebob has as one of it's target audiences and she is loving it. We have several of her Spongebob drawings on our fridge. Yeah, spongebob is still thriving with the younger kids But my guess is 5 mor eyears of airtime before it's *make gun with finger* dead Quote
Emperor Claudius Rome Posted August 1, 2009 Author Posted August 1, 2009 But since spongbob sucks now, it's prime time to make Parody. And since most of the sets left should be on a discount... And sculpey is kinda cheap Quote

Emperor Claudius Rome Posted August 8, 2009 Author Posted August 8, 2009 (edited) I don't think so I'm talking 60% are! Especially amongst American children. My favourite episode though was "Band Geeks." It was like mixing Awsome sauce, Jerky, Hot sauce and Spongbob with "The 80's"! Which made for an "Uber Awsome Sandwhich with a side of: SWEET!"
