7641 City Life bus MOD

I recently bought the set 7641, but I wasn´t too happy with the bus. It was too high. I decided to lower it 1 stud, removing the white advertising pieces. I also had to remove the doors and add smaller ones in order to this to work.

Here´s the result: (I didn´t have any smoke windows, so I used transparent ones as a substitute. I will buy 2 smoke ones from BL soon to replace them. Oh, and the white piece will be replaced with a yellow one as well.)

I´m still not really happy with it, but IMO it´s much better than before.

Excellent, looks better being slightly lower. What with living in the UK I built mine as per instructions, but mirrored for right hand drive. It took a bit of working out to say the least...

Might try a height shortening too on my own one to see how it looks. I think it would look better with the 1x4x5 windowed doors (although can't get yellow with smoked glass).

I like the effect of the shorter height, but I don't like the doors at all.

Same here. Bus looks great, but those doors looks kinda-not-belong here.

I would say the same about the windows but your system is great and I like hoy wou followed the color scheme of the bus so nice job!

I agree the doors look a bit out of place, but I´m working on improving them (I can´t use the old ones due to the lowering, but I have a few ideas in my head).

I wouldn't say that the doors are crap. If anything, I think they look better than the original. It's just the gap that's a bit distracting. Now that the bus is lower, it looks longer (and consequently bigger) to my eye. Very nice job.

Thanks. I´m currently working on to remove the gap, and give the bus more realistic doors. I have a few ideas in my head, the problem is that I lack all the yellow plates I need in order to do so.

I´ll probably get them off BL.
