Commodore Hornbricker Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 My compliments. Your island is incredible! The buildings look wonderful in their new home. You did such a tremendous job building all the landscape. The elevation change is wonderful as well as the shape of the island and harbor!...The spacial relationship looks great. Not too crowded and not to spaced out. You have sooo many details I could not have claimed to have seen them all but I'll keep looking! Truely fantastic! Quote
Apache Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Nice work my Man, nice work. How long do you leave a moc this size together before it gets torn apart? Quote
maydayartist Posted July 28, 2009 Author Posted July 28, 2009 Nice work my Man, nice work. How long do you leave a moc this size together before it gets torn apart? Forever. I build new projects in addition. My amount of bricks is almost infinite ..... *hust* *hust* (what*s in english?) just kidding I try to update little things or upgrade new parts, let all my friends have a look and when a new big thing need to be build, it is Quote
Lego_Warlord_8 Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 BRAVO! BRAVO! Fantastic work! The mountain is spectacular. Not to mention everything else. I really like that picture with the pirates pushing that mining cart. Great work, keep it up! ~LW 8~ Quote
Voodoo Hand Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 Great island! The detail is wel thought out and lots of nice new tricks to use! I saved almost all pictures to study them further, perhaps I can use a little in one of my own projects later on! Quote
Big Cam Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 wow, that is purely awesome, I can't imagine the hours spent on that. Great job!!! Quote
superliver Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 that is perfect and flawless! i am jeaulous Quote
Claus von Nassau Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 i've got no word for it, this is the best port i've ever seen. very detailt and every thing just perfect. i could almost feel the wind blowing true my hair. good work! claus Quote
Wily Manc Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Nevermind best port, that is one of the best MOCs I've ever seen. Since I saw it I've spent half my time wondering how you thought up all the details and planned it all out, and how you got so many bricks . That's really inspirational, I might have to make my own island in imitation. I love the pirate in the hammock, and the gibbet! That's wonderful. Quote
Duck Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 This is amazing! I love all the detail and the sheer size of it! Really well done! Quote
Apache Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 I keep going back to look, that is a sign of a great Moc. The design of the island is fantastic. Quote
Norro Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Very impressive! I love the scale in combination with the display quality of the whole island. So many great touches, and of course the essential blend of natural and artificial terrain are excellent. Very inspiring! Thank you so much for sharing! God Bless, Nathan Quote
saberwing Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Wow, that is absolutly amazing! I like almost everything about this MOC! The mountain, beach, port all look very natural. I just don't understand why there is a dead body under the gibbet. I mean, there are kids in that town right? they must be so scared. Quote
Bammboso Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Hey Landsmann your island is absolutely incredible. I´ve never seen such a detailed and fantastic one before. You´ve done a great job on this. Your Moc gives me some inspiration for the next one I´ll plan to build. But that´ll be waiting a little bit. I just don´t have enough bricks. Quote
maydayartist Posted August 15, 2009 Author Posted August 15, 2009 hey tach auch ;) I tried to send you a personal message, but that's not possible for this moment. To increase your collection take a longer look at ebay. Your german Lego section is very huge in my opinion. I have found all I want sooner or later. The only castle missing in my collection is 10176. It's really rare online as a auction. Back to topic The update with a spanish church ruin for this moc is freeze for the moment. I moved myself to a new flat and it has to be finished first. The same is for the technique details of the ship. Quote
Wout Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 Wow, great moc. It reminds me of some scenes made in legoland Danmark when I was there in 1989, made by lego themselve. Quote
Teddy Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 (edited) This is a really great MOC. There are really great details in there. The finishing is done very well. I have to second CGH though on the water front. Some tan tiles/plates lifting the beacht above the waterline would have been better. Kind regards, Teddy Edited August 24, 2009 by Teddy Quote
Raster Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Congratulations!!! It's one of the best Pirate Dioramas I have ever seen... many many details, perfect landscape, great buildings, atmosphere!!! The outback has tons of new posibilities.... can't wait for your next step... many thanks for sharing Raster Quote
maydayartist Posted September 15, 2009 Author Posted September 15, 2009 (edited) Now all the Have-to-do's are done. The chapel ruin on the eastend is build. A little bit quick and dirty but I don't have many time nowadays, because of move to a new apartment and after this I could start a new project. I can't wait to do this Here are the pictures from the chapel and an overview over the whole island and a little bit offshore to finish the water (special update with blue cover under all) Next step will be the total anihilation Edited September 15, 2009 by maydayartist Quote
Captain Zuloo Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Wow maydayartist, that island is a brilliant piece of work. It reminds me a lot of a Pirates of the Caribbean game that I used to have that didn't have anything to do with the films other than that you had to destroy the Black Pearl at the end... But that island looks like many in that particular game. Fantastic job mate, keep expanding it! Quote
Derfel Cadarn Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 The chapel ruin is a nice touch and fits in well with the rest of the island. Any ideas on what your going to build from the ruins of this one? Quote
maydayartist Posted September 15, 2009 Author Posted September 15, 2009 (edited) First I want to do a little version of this one (anyone know it?? ) but now I'm not sure. Maybe another island with bigger mounatin and without the rest of the old one. But there are definitely only two options: castle or pirate ;) @ Captain zuloo Thanks for edit. I know the game, I have play it two years ago but it was not really an idea pool for the island. Nevertheless it was good an the f*** black pearl was a really hard nut ;) Edited September 15, 2009 by maydayartist Quote
Piranha Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 Wow this is an awesome MOC! Great job with everything! This is a really sweet diorama set up. Do I spot the castle village set in there? Now who is up for pillaging and looting? Keep on buildin'!! I enjoy it very much Quote
Captain Genaro Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 The spanish ruins really make it look like an old carribean island keep up the great work! Quote
ThEGoDFaThEr Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 An awesome Pirate MOC! Nice job with the wall bulwark and the "hanging" area in the front (arrgggghhhh :pir-skull: )... Very well done tunnel, and the newly added chapel ruins are very picturesque.... You had mentioned you would be adding a church too? Eagerly awaiting that btw .... I was hoping you could add a lighthouse at the front .... and maybe a backdoor to the captain's house, which takes him straight to a boat maybe, that way he can escape quickly if the harbor's overwhelmed... Cheers matie! ThEGoDFaThEr. Quote
