DarthSion Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 (edited) A new release of the game is coming, this time it will include all previous DLC (2 skin packs, and the Jedi Temple), as well as a new DLC where Starkiller goes to Tatooine and fights Boba. But there's still more, the new release of the game will come with a special Hoth mission pack where starkiller has taken Vaders place and fights Old Ben and Luke. But there's more, its coming for PC and Mac. Now that would be awesome, TFU2 which follows Starkiller after the ending where he kills Vader. Link contains spoilers for the upcoming dlc and re-release. http://au.ps3.ign.com/articles/100/1007447p1.html More info. http://au.ps3.ign.com/articles/100/1007448p1.html Screens. http://au.media.ps3.ign.com/media/022/022400/imgs_1.html Preview clip. http://au.media.ps3.ign.com/media/022/022398/vids_1.html Edited July 25, 2009 by DarthSion Quote
-JD- Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 (edited) Wow! This is gonna be EPIC! I cannot wait to get it and kill Luke and Obi Wan! It looks even better than the first game. Thanks for this wonderful news! I wonder...if this is set in the OT, will he kill Boba? I suspect he will get away somehow... Edited July 25, 2009 by Jammiedodger714 Quote
DarthSion Posted July 25, 2009 Author Posted July 25, 2009 Well if you want to go down that road, Vader died before ANH thus never killed Obi, so Obi had more time to train Luke, one would assume as Vader is now dead starkiller would kill Boba, Obi and Luke. Wish it would be a full game though, the preview is off the chain, see him knock over the Sandcrawler. My only complaint is the Hoth special mission, if its not going to be DLC as well then that sucks, i have both skin packs, the jedi temple, and i still own the game for my ps3. I hate using spoilers. SWMAN Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 If only the Wii didn't suck and had downloadable content. Of course, TFU pretty much sucked for the Wii (due to poor graphics from the Wii). Still, it would be nice to have some DLC to continue playing. You are right that it would be cool if a sequel followed what might have happened if Vader was killed and Starkiller took his place. Maybe this new DLC is a hint that they are working on something like this. Quote
DarthSion Posted July 25, 2009 Author Posted July 25, 2009 OH MY DARWIN, new dlc re-releasing the game, i bet those rumours of a new lego set with Kota are real, what perfect way to cash in then with more stuff a new version and now coming to pc and mac. Quote
-JD- Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 (edited) Hmm. I suppose this could mean the release of new sets. Starkiller, printed Boba, some Jawas and a Rancor sounds pretty good! So this game you download off PS3 online? Edited July 25, 2009 by Jammiedodger714 Quote
DarthSion Posted July 25, 2009 Author Posted July 25, 2009 To my understanding, the Tatooine mission you download from PSN or XBLA, for the Hoth mission you have to buy the new released version of the game. Quote

DarthSion Posted July 25, 2009 Author Posted July 25, 2009 Oh okay. Thanks a lot! *goes off to pursuade parents to getonline* Well that's if you just want the tatooine mission, if you buy the new release version of the game it will have the 2 skin packs, the jedi temple mission, and the tatooine mission and the hoth mission. And its not out until fall, which is September onwards. Quote
Darth Legolas Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 Hmm. I suppose this could mean the release of new sets. Starkiller, printed Boba, some Jawas and a Rancor sounds pretty good! So this game you download off PS3 online? So there will be Phase II troopers also Mr. Speculator? Okay, I'll stop now. I've had my fun. Sorry. Feel free to take revenge any time. Now I'm confused, is the rumor confirmed that there will be a TFU 2, or is it just a guess because of the new down loadable content? I think that TFU's a great game, but I really don't like it when things mess with Star Wars canon information. It gets a little weird. But I don't think Lego's going to make new TFU sets. Maybe, just possibly if a TFU2 comes out, but that won't be for at least a year, and I know good and well that Lego won't make an entire line of sets based off of DLC! It's not even known by all of the people who've played the game! They're just going to continue making OT and CW sets for a while. Quote
DarthSion Posted July 25, 2009 Author Posted July 25, 2009 TFU2 is just wishful thinking, it would make a great story, continue the game from an evil ending, i had thought of that for a while, what if Starkiller killed the rebels. Well i'm sure at least 1 set will come from the game, there was a massively missed opportunity to get in and make lots of sets. I mean anything would have been better than that rip off RBR set. Quote

I mean anything would have been better than that rip off RBR set. Sabotaging OT, are you? An angry fan base shall pitchfork yee! (Better yet, Trash compactor, or Taun-Taun you, but those are over used.) I really don't like sounding like a pessimist, but the "new game" isn't new, it's got about 15 minutes added on to it, and enough people have the game who aren't Star Wars collectors who wouldn't get it again. Lego just doesn't do that. It's simply a video game, and the "sequel" would be non-canon. Lego has never made a non-canon Star Wars set. Even the TIE crawler was Canon, but I can use that as a very good example. It was from a video game. Nobody bought it! Remember that the Rogue Shadow barely sold at all, until it went half price and sales skyrocketed? There's just not that big of an interest. CW targets kids. OT targets kids and adults. Video games target video gamers. There's just not that big a portion of them. Also, again on the mass of OT fans who are out to get you, try to go easy on the RBR. Most people like it now. Quote
DarthSion Posted July 25, 2009 Author Posted July 25, 2009 Yeah well that's good for those in the USA, but the RBR in Australia is extortion, its a nice set, but its a rip off. Says you lots of people would like TFU sets. Its about 15-20mins added for the jedi temple, add about as much for Tatooine, as much for the Hoth mission, that's almost another hour of game play. It will do better on the ps3 as now Sony is forcing game devs to put trophies in to pander to the kids. Your also forgetting this will do well, TFU was not released on pc or mac, so this will give it a good boost. Since when is game Canon. Quote

Your also forgetting this will do well, TFU was not released on pc or mac, so this will give it a good boost. Since when is game Canon. TFU was canon, for the most part. It's officially part of the Star Wars time line. George Lucas had to pull a few strings and make a few characters deaths non-canon, but this game was actually canon. Also "says you," says nothing. I'm sure plenty of Lego and Star Wars fans would love a few TFU sets, but it's not a large enough fan base. Plus, you shouldn't be arguing with me, argue with Lego. I can't change anything. And maybe it's an hour of extra game play. It makes no difference. Lego has skipped over plenty of Star Wars sets. It's like asking them to make something based off of the two "Ewoks" movies. This game is more popular than those two, but it's not widely known in the Star Wars universe. It also isn't a movie. And don't Start hunting, because TFU isn't being planned as a movie. Maybe in 2011 or 12, but Lego still has no plan to make new sets. It's just pointless really, to argue here. I'll give you this, the next huge franchise video game such as TFU2, Lego would make sets out of, but new content on an old game is simply not worth it. Especially since they only made one set off of a whole video game, just another hour of game play will not even bring a new battlepack! EDIT: DarthSion, I apologize for the argument. Instead, I've started a poll which will settle this debate! Edited July 25, 2009 by Darth Legolas Quote
Satellite Jack Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 (edited) Woah woah woah! So they're re-releasing the entire game, on a disc, but it will have some of the DLC that should've been there in the first place, plus the Dark Side continuation thing?...All on the disc? Well that sounds just peachy EDIT: Wait! Who's character deaths were non-cannon in the TFU? Edited July 25, 2009 by Satellite Jack Quote
Commander Flash Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 (edited) Vader, and Rebels (In Dark Side Ending) and Boba Luke and Obi Wan (Expansion) Edited July 25, 2009 by Commander Flash Quote
Satellite Jack Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 Vader, and Rebels (In Dark Side Ending) and Boba Luke and Obi Wan (Expansion) Oh yeah forgot about the Dark side ending... Does anybody think Starkiller looks more like Vader now with those "panels" on the side of his helmet? Quote
DarthSion Posted July 25, 2009 Author Posted July 25, 2009 Thats the whole point of DLC, something to keep you interested after the game has been released. I think it was only if you played the dark ending. Quote
Spyder Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 Yes! Thank you, it's a dream come true! It's coming out for PC! Woohoo! And even better, it has all new levels. This is gonna be the best game ever! Quote
Darth Legolas Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 Wow! That helmet is way too close to Vaders. But come to think of it, this new edition does look like it comes with some good stuff. Too bad I won't be playing it, as my PC doesn't take games well and I have no gaming systems. Quote
DarthSion Posted July 26, 2009 Author Posted July 26, 2009 I don't know how this would play on pc, it was a bit awkward on the ps3 360. I'm hoping they have refined the controls a bit more. Well he is supposed to replace Vader so guess it makes sense, and after all it all has to be approved by Lucas before it gets made, so he is obviously ok with it. Looks sweet here. http://au.ps3.ign.com/dor/objects/22400/st...4064925762.html I wonder if with the DLC it will be mixed in together, like the Jedi temple was set during the campaign. Wonder if now with the extra holocrons if we will finely be able to max out his stats with out clocking the game twice. Wonder if any new powers, the psp and ps2 versions had allot more powers, like force chock, and like where he would make a tornado around him sucking in everything then send them flying with a big shockwave. Quote
DarthSion Posted July 26, 2009 Author Posted July 26, 2009 Yeah almost as big as the ISD, wonder if thats FMV or actually something you have to do. Speaking of which i hope they fixed fighting the ISD, man that was annoying. Quote
-JD- Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 He looks a lot like a Tusken in that screen shot DarthSion.... It would be great if you could fight some of those too! DarthLegolas- I will have my revenge... Quote
DarthSion Posted July 26, 2009 Author Posted July 26, 2009 Perhaps its a skin, like the Darth Sion, Old Ben, Luke, C3PO, Boba skins you can download. Quote
