ditto Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 Hi people, I'll be heading over to the US for a short trip so I'm hoping I can score a few sets to bring home. I'll be in New York and Washington D.C. for a couple of days each so I'm wondering where will I be able to find Lego sets. I've searched for Lego retail outlets and they are usually out of the city and only accessible by car. Are there any Lego shops in these two cities that are easily accessible via metro or bus? Any help much appreciated!
The Alchemyst Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 I don't live in either place, but if you know your hotel room/address, go to the local transit sites. There, you can input start and end to see if you can go to various stores. Googling and wiking up some sites led me to The WMATA for Washington DC and MTA for NYC. And alternatively, you could always grab a taxi. [Although prices are high] I'm not sure on how extensive the transit lines are, but I hope it helps. [-TA-]
Darth Legolas Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 FAO Schwartz in NY. I visited there once. They don't have the newest of the new, but it's pretty up to date. They probably have a little less than what an average TRU has. BUT: They have huge Lego models everywhere! It's great! A Batman Model, a Chewie, and four Harry potter giants, all made of Lego! I highly suggest going there.
CP5670 Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 Googling and wiking up some sites led me to The WMATA for Washington DC and MTA for NYC. The closest Lego brand store to DC is the Tysons Corner one, and I know the Washington metro doesn't really go there. An extension in that direction is being built but is several years away from completion. Although if you just want to buy standard Lego sets, any standard toy store chain will have them.
