The Who Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 I was just curious about some very odd things with my sets. My UCS Falcon, for example, came with 24 "Wedge, Plates, 4x2 Right" and 22 of the Left matching plate. (I would put a link to Bricklink, but it keeps freezing up my computer) Also, my Chauchilla Cemetary came with 3 1x1 Dark bley tiles, which are not even used in the set. There are several other cases like this with my 'collection,' but I can only think of these right now. And yes, I built them perfectly. The pieces should not be there at all. Has this happened to anybody else? Quote
JCC1004 Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 My old Spongebob house had some pieces missing but there was a blue tap, blue plates, and a basketball net. It was wierd. My Indy set didn't have those extra. I've had some others. Someone got an extra CW Obi-Wan! Quote

HumanPackMule Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 most sets I purchase typically have four to five extra pieces, mostly consisting of cheese slopes, technic pins, and 1x1 studs. I'll occasionally get a spare piece such as a sword(which is a big plus for me). Quote
brickzone Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 I was lucky enough to get a spare bag of 1x2 dark red and dark grey jumpers with Town Plan. Quote
Luke McAwesome Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 One of my friends got double accesories in the Republic Attack Gunship, does that count? Quote
HumanPackMule Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 One of my friends got double accesories in the Republic Attack Gunship, does that count? I don't think so. From what I've seen on Brickshelf, it happens all the time with that set, along with the AT-TE set. Quote
blueandwhite Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Back in the day the old Yellow Castle was stuffed with extra goodies. Extra visors were the norm. In my copy I received an extra grey and white visor. Unfortunately, I have long since lost one of the whites and a black one! Apparently LEGO didn't realize that I didn't need an extra grey visor but I sure could have used an extra black one! Quote
Brickbuilder0937 Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Wow, and I thought I was the only one who got extra wing plates. I even had the same number of extra pieces as you. It's funny, when I finished the millenium falcon I thought I had skipped a page or two of instructions, but I guess not. Quote
Izzy Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 In my Knight Bus I got and extra Stan Head and torso but no hat or legs. Quote
prateek Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 I've never had this in a Lego set before, but probably because I've never bought a set over $20 Quote
Corvus Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 I've gotten an extra weapon or two, but nothing major. However, Exobuilder got a horse in an EF set he bought. Quote
cole Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Only once, but it was quite a haul. Heres a pic. Quote
prateek Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Only once, but it was quite a haul. Heres a pic. Now that's lucky Quote
Rick Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 I was lucky enough to get a spare bag of 1x2 dark red and dark grey jumpers with Town Plan. Me too, and I've seen it being reported before (lucky batch I guess). Oh and in the City harbor set (7994), I got a separate bag containing 6 white boat/plane windows, even though they were also in other bags, mixed up with other parts O Quote
Peppermint_M Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 I get a habdful of the smallest parts and the odd extra sword or visor. The most useful of these are cheese slopes and 1x1 stud pins as I use a lot of those parts. I haven't ever had something that doesn't belong and I haven't had any super mega wow amounts of extra's. I don't mind having the extra's (its an odd set that doesn't have a few small spares) as I can use them in my MOCs. I think on my next online Lego splurge (as much of Agents 2.0 as I can plus the SPIII impulses?) I will save all the extra parts to see exactly what I get... Quote
Delmar Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 ages ago when i got my black technic super car i got some extra wheel suspension parts in the wrong color. Pretty useless part to have though. Other than that nothing special... Quote
Wily Manc Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Mediaeval Market Village - I got a second set of stickers, but nothing so lucky as some of you folks. Quote
ILikePi Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 I don't recall getting any so far. Hopefully I will get some in the future. Quote
brickzone Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 I've had extra stickers once or twice - e.g. the transparent stickers in the Agents truck (haven't used them yet though - mainly cause I doubt I need a second forcefield panel). Quote
webeaulieu Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 My soldier from 8396 Soldier's Arsenal had no legs, but there was a brown 2x2 brick instead. This is the only time I got a piece that didn't belong in the set at all. I don't think I've ever got a set with exactly the number of pieces indicated on the box. There are always at least a few extra small elements. Quote
The Who Posted July 22, 2009 Author Posted July 22, 2009 (edited) My UCS Falcon, for example, came with 24 "Wedge, Plates, 4x2 Right" and 22 of the Left matching plate. (I would put a link to Bricklink, but it keeps freezing up my computer)To make that perfectly clear, all of those plates were actually leftover. I guess the factory dumped two loads in one box, which was mine.most sets I purchase typically have four to five extra pieces, mostly consisting of cheese slopes, technic pins, and 1x1 studs. I'll occasionally get a spare piece such as a sword(which is a big plus for me).I said extra pieces that should not be there. Those are intended, and come with almost every set.In my Knight Bus I got and extra Stan Head and torso but no hat or legs.It would have to be a Harry Potter set... I've never had this in a Lego set before, but probably because I've never bought a set over $20 Then start saving. However, Exobuilder got a horse in an EF set he bought. This is the only time I got a piece that didn't belong in the set at all.Normally they are just twice the amount of a part that is in the set. That's a little rarer.
