martinsuper Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Target has a sale right now, 10% off any toy purchase over $50. I enjoy target because I think they have the best LEGO selection. I happen to get $30 in gift cards, so I'm going to buy another Soldier's Fort for some minifigs, pieces, etc... -Super
ILikePi Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Is this for the U.S.? And LEGO Stores have a better LEGO selection than Target.
Apache Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Hmmmm... do we need a coupon? Or if I buy just buy $50 worth of legos, they will mark in down at the register? Might just go to the lego store so I can get my card punched.
Diamondback Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Confirmed at US Target.com, no coupon. Checking the brick'n'mortar ad... Hmmmm... do we need a coupon? Or if I buy just buy $50 worth of legos, they will mark in down at the register? Might just go to the lego store so I can get my card punched. ---------------- Now playing: James Horner - Into The LEM via FoxyTunes
Oky Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Hm... This might be a good time for me to finally get that RAS... Thanks for that info, but for the next time, sales and such go in here.
martinsuper Posted July 21, 2009 Author Posted July 21, 2009 Yeah, I know LEGO stores have a better selection, but there isn't ONE in the State of Michigan. So Target it is. As for the in store discount, when I went online, they said all the stuff needed to be purchased "in store". So if for some reason they dont give you the discount, tell them the website told you to come and buy it in the store instead of ordering it. -Super
HumanPackMule Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 I noticed that Target's also having the yearly Lego clearance. I was able snatch up the Jetrax T6 for half price last sunday.
Oky Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 I noticed that Target's also having the yearly Lego clearance. I was able snatch up the Jetrax T6 for half price last sunday. Is that an in-store only thing too? I don't see anything about a Lego clearance on their website. Does anyone know how long the 10% off deal will last?
Erdbeereis Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 My Target's "clearance sale" is only like 3 to 5 dollars off of some sets. I always think of clearance sales as great deals, but not at my Target.
ILikePi Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 (edited) Here's an online link to Target's LEGO page if anyone's interested: http://www.target.com/LEGO-Toy-Toys/b?ie=U...mp;node=1038710 I'm not completely sure, but you might also be able to buy online to get the discount (at least for California), since the words "10% off toy orders over $50" appear on the products that you can only buy online. And does the LEGO clearance at Target have good deals? Edited July 21, 2009 by ILikePi
Erdbeereis Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 And does the LEGO clearance at Target have good deals? My Target only has the Hailfire Droid for $3 off, a few Bionicle for $2 off Indy Jungle cutter for $6 off, and a few other small things. I was hoping for some good discounts, but for some reason Target doesn't have big sales, at least not mine...
Buckshot Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 The thing to remember with both Target and Wal-Mart (in the U.S.) is that each individual store appears to set its own clearance price (at least on Lego). I've found Lego half-price at one store and still at full price at another chain store less than five miles away. You've just got to look around and get lucky. The real question here is will the 10% off the $50 purchase work on clearance items? Hopefully I'll find out tomorrow
ILikePi Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 I checked my Target today, and all they have are: Tower Raid for $20 (originally $30) Mission 4: Speedboat Rescue for $28 (originally $40) Ice Rally for $10 (originally $15) I would've gotten Tower Raid if I was a Castle fan, but I'm going to save my money for Star Wars sets.

You should have gotten it. It's one of the best sets of the current line. Finding it at that price is a steal Is that an in-store only thing too? I don't see anything about a Lego clearance on their website. Does anyone know how long the 10% off deal will last? Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's just in-store. They also had numerous other toylines on clearance as well.
Apache Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 THE 10% IS NOT AVAILABLE INSTORE, at least in the Arizona stores. I asked several employess and then talked to a manager and she didn't know anything about it, we looked at the website and she showed me where it says ONLINE only. Just FYI. They did not have Tower Raid on sale or I would of bought all three, they did have some of the new Star Wars sets.
ILikePi Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 (edited) I checked two other Targets near me today, and they did have some good deals (but I didn't get any). The first Target I went to had lots of Indy sets and the City Crawler Crane, clearanced at around $10 off each. The other Target had an opened Dwarves' Mine, a smashed Jungle Cutter, a Crawler Crane, and a Troll Warship, all 30% off. It seems like all Targets are having random sales that don't really relate to one another. Edited July 23, 2009 by ILikePi
The Alchemyst Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 It's definitely YMMV for Target Clearance. For example, online it says Dwarf's mine is full $60. At the Target I went to [Fullerton, if anyone in Chicago was wondering], they had them for 30% off. Everything on clearance there was 30%, ranging from Summer Bionicle Mistika line, to this large construction crane, Dwarf's mine, and Turbocar chase. Got the last one for $35, and it's absolutely lovely. [-TA-]
Buckshot Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 Managed six different Targets the other day; found, as usual, a variety of clearance items. The best deals: 7673 Magna Guard Starfighter and a 7674 V-19 Torrent, each for half price. Also found one Dwarves Mine for 40 bucks, so I grabbed that. One of the stores had nothing on clearance, but most had something. And what's up with 15% off? That's not clearance, that's barely on sale! Point is--it's a good time to look around.
ILikePi Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 (edited) Today I got a Temple of the Crystal Skull for 50% off (now $40, normal price $80). The odd thing was that the price tag still said that it was $68, but when I scanned it, it showed it as $40. Also, Flickr member chantastic found Jungle Cutters and Speedboat Rescues on clearance $10 each. http://www.flickr.com/photos/chantastic/3774656905/ Edited August 1, 2009 by ILikePi
posades Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 Clearance sales like these make me angry. My local Walmarts and Targets never mark down LEGO sets that much; I went to my Target the other day and nothing, not even one marked down set. Oh well, congrats to everyone who did find one.

dunamis Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 Went to three different Targets over the past couple of days. I picked up a few of the jungle cutters for $9.97 (which I think is 75% off). They had the city crane for 50% off and some castle sets at 50% off. Another Target had the hailfire droid set 30% off. Finally, I found a few Magnaguard starfighters at 50% off. I was at a different Target less than a week ago and absolutely nothing was on clearance so your mileage will definitely vary (even within a 20 mile radius). Also, several of the agents sets found their way into clearance. It's not a theme that I follow so I don't remember which ones. Seemed like they were either 30 or 50% off. Note that Target and Wal-Mart typically do this at the end of July and the first few weeks of August as they are trying to clear shelf space for back to school stuff. There were a TON of other toys in the clearance isles.
UsernameMDM Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 I wish I could have found a few of the Indy sets for 75% off! I would love to have a few jungle cutters and temples. Congrats to those that scored some goodies.
UsernameMDM Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 If anyone out there still has 75% off Indy Jungle Cutters at their Target store, could you pick some up for me? PM me if interested.
Mr. Lego-builder Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 I'll second the post before me. It seems that I either caught sight of this thread too late or the Target stores near where I live did not have any sales. Either way, I would be one happy camper if I scored some Jungle Cutters, since I need the the included vehicle in particular. If you happen to be one of those lucky people, don't mind sending me a PM. I am very flexible when it comes to payment methods. Thanks.
