takuto20 Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 Excuse me if I overlooked this, but we didn't see this before, did we? The ambulance looks a lot better, in my opinion this set looks very rushed, like 2005's police cars with red add-ons. EDIT: Well at least it has doors, a huge improvement IMO. Quote
Starwars4J Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 I think it's been seen. It's unrealistic though. Such cars don't really exist, and the ONLY good point about the set is the fig torso Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 The question I ask when seeing such weird vehicles is, "Are there cars like this in Europe where Lego HQ is?" I don't even have to look this time... of course there's not. It's ridiculous. lol There's not even an acceptably fun amount of 1x1 pieces in it. I hope the price point is no more than $5. MAX. If it's any more, one might as well just ask outside on the street for quarters until they have enough for the ambulance. Quote
Echo Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 It is just a white version of the car that comes with the Fire Station. I will probably buy one for the fig. Quote
Zarkan Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 Funny JINZONINGEN, seems as you only buy sets for the parts if they have a huge amount of 1x1 slopes. Well, what about the other parts? Like the white mudguards and car roof piece, and those red wedges and slopes? Yes, the kit model is a laugh, but the pieces are great!(for a small kit) I'll probably buy one of these. Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 Yah, I know what you're sayin'. But what I'm saying is even though it's a "smaller" City model, the price would have to be REALLY low to not just spend a buck or two more to get the same parts in the Ambulance set, in sweet quantity, too. ::looks at Lego Shop@Home:; Yick! 5.99?!? Yeah, see, that's what I thought. 2 dollar difference, but almost double the parts. Item#: 7902 Ages: 5-12 Pieces: 66 Price: USD 5.99 Item#: 7890 Ages: 5-12 Pieces: 118 Price: USD 7.99 Quote

If it's any more, one might as well just ask outside on the street for quarters until they have enough for the ambulance. It could be that LEGO tries to make a counterpart for the Doctor's Ambulance. Which (in Denmark) is a smaller car for example the Merceds ML - it's a quick response vehicle placing a doctor at the scene of the accident before the slower ambulance carrying only medics arrive. It really works! - And my guess is that "The Doctor's car" is a SUV version of just that :) - Well this is just me guessing ;) KimT Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 Strange vehicle. When it comes to these types of vehicles, I really liked the open cars from the 80s (or) the Spiderman vehicles a lot better. Here's a shot from the Paramedic Unit released in 1980: Quote
KimT Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 I've found a "real" picture of the doctor's car [read earlier post] and it looks like this: I know it's a small pic, but it was all I could find. EDIT: the letters on the side "L Quote
KimT Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 They could have done better. I dunno - I think it's an ok set. The car might need some modifying, but the minifig is great and I'm surely going to buy it. KimT Quote
