Market Street 10190 is definitely one of the most recognized buildings to emerge from LEGO Factory. As always though, I wanted to tweak the standard sets offered by LEGO, make it my own but still leave the building as recognizable as possible. As usual, the modular features were removed for ease of transportation and storage between our club's public displays. A small PAB order for 1x2 and 1x4 Light & Dark Blue bricks was placed. All the other parts needed came out of my parts farm.

I was seeking a more North American style and feel for the building. I don't think there would be too many blue buildings from this era in Canada... but the blue's are beautiful and certainly do brighten the layout.

I started first my mirroring the original set, adding the apartment above the Market, changing the 3rd floor facade and rotating the balcony apartment to the back. Other minor details were added... tile in the market, and 1x4 wall sections as well to the market for stability.

Looks good but the only thing I don't like is how the front of the tall section is straight while the back is curved. I think it would look better if the back was straight but then you would loose the balcony. Still a good job, and it's better than the original.

It's a nice mod and the filling of the walls of the lower building makes it stronger.

The new floorfacade for the lower building is very good.

Although some comments about that he building is better than the original hurts my dutch hart. I like the crow-stepped gable (trapgevel) which give it a very old dutch feeling.

I'm a big fan of the original market street, and I love what you've done for this one. The dark blue facade on the right is a great addition, and goes a long way to making it fit in well with the CC series buildings. I for one, love the strait facade of the top floor and the sloping back. It's a very good example of what frequently happens in the city when a more impressive facade is created (or added later) and the less ornate original rear of the building is left as-is.

I must say though, that I'm surprised that you made it non-modular for transportation. I make all my buildings 16x16 MStreet modular and I find it makes for extreme ease of transport.
