Beagle Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 p.s: could someone post a picture of jango's backside for comparison? Hey, I didn't know this was THAT kind of website! :-D Quote
Deinonychus Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 Great review! I love how everytime LEGO does Slave I it just gets better and better, and this time it was just enough changes to make it cooler without ruining what was already an excelent design. Now I can hardly wait for the man in the brown truck to pull up with my set However I'm a little miffed about the redesigned bottom...Jango's version had a nifty little hole that that I use to mount it flush to the wall with a mug-hook...looks like I'll have to rig something new for Boba's version :P Quote
Yuppley Posted December 15, 2005 Posted December 15, 2005 Like the back a lot, but the cockpit shouldn't be that close to the launcher. *Wanders away to find Boba's head* Quote

xwingyoda Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 Okie Guys, For comparison, here are a couple of pics of Jango's Slave and the wing: The trap doors near the cockpit: last one is the rear guns: See how the new Slave 1 is wayyyyy better ;) Quote
Vader Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 The overall design is indeed better but i still prefer the colour scheme on jangos slave 1. Quote
Yuppley Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 I've always wondered, what is that little tab by the yellow parts on the bottom of Jango's Slave I? Quote
Deinonychus Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 I've always wondered, what is that little tab by the yellow parts on the bottom of Jango's Slave I? (pours through cross-section books and vehicle guides) Uhhh...doesn't say... Portable outdoor grill? Quote
Dragon King Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 Wow. The new pics make it even better. Quote
Starwars4J Posted December 17, 2005 Author Posted December 17, 2005 Wow. The new pics make it even better. Um...you mean the pictures xwingyoda took make the new Slave I look better by comparison? I just don't want you to get confused, what xwingyoda took were of Jango Fett's Slave I If you weren't confused...well...then just ignore this :D Quote
n'henk pas Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 thanks for the comparison pictures! but i'm still curious about the back of jango fett's slave1 *minifig* EDIT: after having a good look at jango fett's i think lego did a teriffic restyle! i really love the new one, it's just nearly perfect, but i stick to my origanal point, it's really expensive, especially for an ordinary schoolboy who collects this kind of ships..... :'( Quote
Vader Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 I remember when lego first brought out the salve 1, i thought it was great at the time then when they released the 2nd one i was blown away and after seeing the new version well lego just keeps getting better and better at the slave 1. Quote
Sarg_Kulo Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 So in a few years we will have a perfect one. Quote
Vader Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 It really wouldnt surprise me if we got a new Jango version :| Quote
Starwars4J Posted December 19, 2005 Author Posted December 19, 2005 It really wouldnt surprise me if we got a new Jango version :| Well I would be. I think they only re-released this version because they realized what utter crap the first version of it looked like. They have no excuse to make another Jango version Quote
Deinonychus Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 At this point I wouldn't mind...after putting the new Slave I together and setting it alongside the Jango version...it made the Jango version look like crap :P I think these second attempts at SW vehicles LEGO has already given us are starting to spoil me. Now if we can get TIE fighters in the correct colors we'll be golden Quote
Echo Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 IG-88 has a big head. Very nice review! It makes me want the Slave I even more! Could you please post a pic of the Bespin gaurd? Quote
captaintau Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 Just finished building. Great fun. One big piece was warped though - will try to call Lego later (already tried but a technical fault meant I couldn't be put through to a Lego Expert. Did anyone else have a 2 x 4 black brick left over? I've scoured the instructions to see where I missed, but can't see it. In the review, it points out the front doors containing who-knows-what. Could these be weapons for Boba and the Bespin guard? Makes little sense I know, but I'm disappointed at a lack of weaponry for all the cast. For how cheap the loudspeakers and lights are, you'd think they'd do a couple. Quote

Um, the Bespin guard is in the picture with the whole cast, or do you mean a close-up? And as for the weapons, I hate the megaphone lasers anyway, so a lack of them isn't a big deal Quote
