The Wonder Woman project has sadly been cancelled for now and looks to be the same for Justice League Mortal (though I'm terrifically happy over that one).

Still, looking forward to Green Lantern.

I am really excited about all of these comic-book movies. After what they have done with the Nolan Batman series, Iron Man, and Spiderman, I am really excited about these upcoming movies. Although I don't read the comics, I love the movies because you don't have to read the comics to understand what is going on. My only complaint is that looking at the Justice League rumored actors list, I noticed that Batman was not Christian Bale. Although Nolan's Batman universe is more realistic and probably doesn't have real superheroes and in turn wouldn't be in the Justice League, Bale makes a great Batman.

Green Lantern better be perfect or I will NERD RAGE all over it (like I did with Batman, alll the Batman) JLA? Meh, call me when JSA is a film. I saw the aweful series pilot way back when and it was bad... Team up films only work after all the characters have had introduction films.

I won't go any further as people will disagree with my views on films: the place of.

Dump der Super-Helden, wir brauchen mehr Stirb Langsam-Filme.

Anyway, I'm sick of all the super heroes. Superman, Batman, Iron man and Spiderman were all good enough for me. Although the new X-Men movie pushed the cow off the cliff. :hmpf_bad:

I meant real comic books.

By "real" you mean American? :hmpf: Tintin is as much a graphic novel as any of the DC/Marvel stuff. In fact, it's actually better than many of those silly superhero flicks IMHO. :sadnew:

Agreed, which is also why I don't want it adapted. Just look at V for Vendetta of Watchmen, they are literary masterpieces of the comic genre, but their respective movies were far less because it was translating onto screen what shouldn't be translated.

To the Batbrickmobile!

I see what you mean, but I have faith in Spielberg. I read that he is a big fan of Tintin and that it has often been an inspiration for his movies. He is one of the best directors to have ever lived, so what can go wrong? :classic:

Good Bale is a horrible actor.

Im pretty sure WW is just delayed due to other movies being made.

Personally, I really like Christian Bale. I think he makes a great Batman, and is the best out of all the actors to play him.

And your comment about "real" comic books is kind of insulting. Even though I have no idea what the "Adventure of Tintin" is, I still think that it is a real comic book. Just because it isn't American and doesn't have a normal superhero doesn't make it any less of a comic book.

To Clarify:

Tintin is Awesome. I was reading Herge way before I had heard of Alan Moore, Niel Gaiman or any of the other "big names" in American comics.

Point the Second: Is it an image with or without sound effects, speech bubbles and captions? Then it is a comic.

Point the Third: Just because it isn't american doesn't mean it isnt a comic book. The Eagle, Dandy, Beano, Shonen Jump, DC, Marvel, Asterix, Tintin (and the countless French comics that make me wish I was any good at languages other than English) are all comics/graphic novels (whichever term floats your boat).

I am looking forward to Tintin also. Fans of the work always do their best and seeing as this fan is Spielberg you know the end result will be at least watchable.

Yeah tintin is as much a comic as garfield and snoopy, tintin is just law and order for kids.

Lol, Spielberg is senile, he did 2 movies with Bay, and he is a fan of transformers and look how they turned out, his last good movie was saving private Ryan.

I didnt see those batman, but Bale was shocking as John Conner.

I wish they would get Spawn 2 out of dev hell, the first one was good, especially with the guy who did Sid in ice age.

If we are looking at Spielberg both directing and producing, he has done a ton of great movies after Saving Private Ryan. Minority Report, Disturbia, Eagle Eye, War of the Worlds. While Saying Private Ryan is probably his best movie ever, he is still a great director. Just because he likes Transformers and Bay doesn't make him senile. Haven't we gone over the respect issue before? Also, if you didn't see the Batman films, you can't really say that you are glad Bale isn't doing Justice League, because you have no idea if he is a good Batman.

Don't be so quick to judge and insult people and things.

And even though you just said that Tintin is a comic like Garfield and Snoopy, you are downplaying it to a comic in the sunday newspaper instead of a real comic book. Even without coming out and saying it is lowly, you are doing it and insulting it.

SWMAN has some very valid points.

Yeah tintin is as much a comic as garfield and snoopy, tintin is just law and order for kids.

I think you are confused. Garfield & Snoopy are comic strips. Tintin may have started out being printed in newspapers, but that doesn't make it a comic strip.

If you say it's for kids, that's your opinion. But some of us grew up with it, so you should respect that.

Lol, Spielberg is senile, he did 2 movies with Bay, and he is a fan of transformers and look how they turned out.

Some of the highest grossing movies of their release year? :hmpf: I don't see what's senile about that.

I personally think that Minority Report was Spielberg's last great movie. :sadnew:

Seriously, stop trying to pick fights with people and start respecting their opinion! Sorry, but I'm really getting sick of you (indirectly) insulting other persons and/or their work! It's still a mystery to me how the heck you lasted on this forum for so long.

That said, let's get back on topic please.

Never have been a big fan of comic books, but, I do like some such as Batman and Superman.

At least they took the hint and aren’t making a Spider Man Four…

Actually, Spider-Man 4 was just assigned a new writer. Honestly, I thought the first two were good, but the third one was trash. There was way too much drama between Peter and Mary-Jay.

Not another one! The first two were the best, but the third…please…

I can’t wait to see what ‘super villain’ they make for this one… They’ve already done:

Green Goblin

Sandman

Octopus Villain, (whose name escapes me)

Venom

Green Goblin 2 or whatever they called it. (Now they’re definitely running low on ideas)

Never been a huge fan, so, I don’t know many villains from the comics.

Well, Harry becoming the Green Goblin (something that happened decades ago in the comics, in the 90s animated series, and finally in Spiderman 3 isn't a spoiler anymore so no spoiler tags) is straight out of the books so teh second Green Goblin isn't bottom of the barrel.

As for other villains, you have several:

Hobgoblin-Maybe better to hold off as people are probably burnt out on the Goblin, but there are ways to make him work

Carnage-We had Venom, his psychotic offspring isn't beyond the realm of possibility

Hydro Man-People might think he is too similar to Sandman (morphing massive body)

Electro-He's different at least

Chameleon-He would probably work best as part of an assasination plot with another villain

Scorpion-He was made specifically to fight Spider-Man

Spider Slayers-Killer robots designed to find and kill Spider-Man, one of their creators eventually remade himself into a cybernetic version to fight Spider-Man himself

Shocker-He's in keeping with the inventor/scientist gone wrong angle (I think he actually created his gear anyway)

Rhino-Super strong (as in, can fight the Hulk and not die super strong) henchman for hire

Vulture-Old man who creates a flying outfit and eventually he is able to suck the life force out of people to become young

Mysterio-Movie special effects man turned criminal armed with crazy special effects technology to alter people's perception of reality

The Lizard-Curt Conners is already in the movie, so go ahead and have him become the Lizard

The Man Wolf-Like the Lizard, the man who become him (John Jameson) is already in the movies so they may as well use him

I'm sure there are many, many more that could work. He has a near endless supply of "science gone wrong" villains and a number of them are memorable. I would say his rogues gallery is one of the best out there. If they need ideas they can just watch the 90s cartoon. The only key villain they can't use due to rights entanglement (unless there has been a change) is the Kingpin. Like Batman, they should have no problem with finding more villains.

Justice League: Mortal (working name) 2011.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0974015/

I never really liked the Justice League at all, but I'll see how this turns out.

It might be interesting, but I think this is kind of pushing it as far as comic movies go. Wonder Woman is well known, but I don't see how they could make a full movie out of her. Then again, I don't read comics, so there's probably some huge back story to her.

Meh, Green Lantern is pretty cool, but again, I'm not sure about a movie.

The first avenger: Captain America 2011.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0458339/

It looks like they're doing something like X-Men origins with Avengers. I just can't get that image of tights and underwear out of my head. The silly outfits are what ruins these kinds of movies for me, like in Superman Returns...

X-men origins Magneto 2011.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0499519/

Yuck. I hated Magneto in the first three, and I'll hate him in this. One of the main reasons why I liked Wolverine so much was because Magnet-head wasn't in it.

Now this sounds good.

Also rumoured that X-men origins Deadpool will be released.

Thanks to Wikipedia, I now know who that is. It should be interesting to see since he wasn't in any of the trilogy.

And 2010 seems Ironman 2, 2012 sees the avengers.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1228705/

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0848228/

Ironman 2? The first was spectacular, so I can't wait to see this. I'm sure we all already saw Avengers coming.

I heard an X-Men First Class was in the works too. and Wolverine 2...

I wonder what that first one is... Wolverine 2, though? Shouldn't they be focusing on making individual characters first before they make sequels?

By "real" you mean American?

 I'm sorry, but this made me laugh.

I see your point though, and I agree that you, DarthSion, need to cool it. You always seem to be disagreeing with people. While this is normally perfectly fine, you do it in an aggressive manner that generally pisses people off. I'm no mod, but maybe you need to act more friendly around here before one comes and kicks you off for good.

Personally, I really like Christian Bale. I think he makes a great Batman, and is the best out of all the actors to play him.

I like him as an actor too, but have you seen this? (Warning: Explicit)

Yeah I'm not following you there, for a second it seemed like you were tying to say because it made allot of money its good?, but that cant be what your saying?.

Microsoft, pepsi, burgerking all make lots of money too, but certainly are not good.

Don't like what i say, don't read it.
