Ever since I can remember, my family has been playing a game called "Murderer" with my lego. We all pitch in and build a giant island, and then we each make 5 or 6 characters. Then, we each designate one of our characters to be our murderer. Then, we each get to commit murders on the island one by one and leave clues for the other players. To win, you simply need to kill off the other players' murderers.

My older brother just graduated from college and is home for one last summer, so we decided to give murderer one last go. Over the past week or so, myself, my mom (lalande on these forums), my brother Drew, and my girlfriend Amanda have been working on our biggest and best island yet. I don't know if I'll have time to photograph all of the clues left behind and write up what's going on in the game, but just in case I do I put this in the Wargames and Mafia games forum.

We haven't started playing yet, but here are some photos of the island and a few of the characters for the Red Parrot Resort. I realize that the island might not look as finished as most MOCs, but we were going mainly for playability and not really worrying about details like tiling every single floor. Not to mention, there's no way I would have enough pieces to make such a giant island look as finished as my smaller MOCs!

A shot of the entire Island. If I counted correctly, it measures about 192 by 144 studs:

The basement, complete with a cellar for drinks and food, 2 saunas, a massage room, a hot tub, and an underground entrance to the pool:

Speaking of the pool...:

The downstairs, with a kitchen, billiards room, receptionist room, and a dining room:

The upstairs, with 4 bedrooms, a bathroom...:

...some golf tees on a balcony to tee off into the ocean...:

...and a dance room:

Outside of the dance room, there is a balcony overlooking a stage for live music and ghost stories:

In the ocean, you can swim to a little island store to get some snorkeling gear:

And then you can go for a nice swim in the corral reef or go fishing on the peir:

And finally, here is a shot of all of the workers at the Red Parrot Resort:

I posted pictures of all my favorite details, but a few more pictures can be found here:

Comments welcome! Hopefully I'll be able to find time to put pictures of all the murders and clues online!

Wow, what a great tradition you guys have! Almost makes me wish to belong to your family.

The island is exquisite, and all the lovely small details surely forgive the roughness of the build.

I'm interested to know, how exactly does this game of yours work? Is one of you a gamemaster who decides the culprit and clues, or do you all plan it together or just improvise it?

I'm really excited to hear more of this!
