Orion123 Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 (edited) I found these decals on Flickr a couple of weeks ago. They're decals from the game Team Fortress 2. When I tried to put the pictures up when I first saw them, It said the file size was too big! So I went looking to find his flickr page and put a link (And to of course give credit ). I finally found it a couple of minutes ago. http://www.flickr.com/photos/34166136@N04/3237177176/ And I also found concept art (Lego of course): http://www.flickr.com/photos/31328413@N05/3215972067/ Cheers to both of them. The decals are great. Now if I could only get my TF2 to work! Orion Out :skull: Edited July 4, 2009 by Orion123 Quote
exxtrooper Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 I don't think you are allowed to post others decals here Quote
Capt. Kirk Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 I don't think you are allowed to post others decals here --> I'm not really sure but I think it's ok, as long as you give credit to the maker. --> Second, he posted it on Flickr... so everybody can see or use them. --> Or let me say it differently, if you don't want that anybody use your photos, illustrations, ect... then don't put them on the internet. Or you must give it a watermark or leave a note or add a copyright symbol IMO. --> But LuxorV will give us the correct answer ! Quote
LuxorV Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 --> I'm not really sure but I think it's ok, as long as you give credit to the maker. That's already the 'correct' answer. Thanks for sharing this find, Orion123. LuxorV Quote

No, some files on flickr are copyrighted, like this one. And yes Luxorv may be right, but I don't think Matt is ok with this, many of his decals have been scammed, many people say they made them, and stuff like that. That's why he is keeping a low profile, he have already deleted his first Flickr account cause everyone stole his decals. Don't belive me? Go ahead, contact the guy. Quote

In the first place it’s a way of showing no respect for someone’s work. For me personally this lack of honesty tells a lot of the guy/girl who did it. Let this be clear. But I have one remark. Why show your work on the internet if you already had some bad experience with it. In away this is asking for the same trouble again (even if you try to keep a low profile). OK you can add the copyright symbol and whatever... but in general who cares now a days if you’re just a simple person and not a big company like Coca Cola for instance. If it’s someone on the other side of the ocean that is using your work and even said he/she made it... what do you gone do? You maybe could send a mail if you have he’s/she’s email address or you could add a comment (like on Flickr or MocPages). But then you reached the end of your possibilities IMO. Some would answer now... a lawsuit. If so, just keep in mind that its gone cost you a lot of money. Especially if the other guy/girl is on the other side of the ocean. Is it worth it?! Don’t get me wrong if we talk about big things or mass production where money is involved I say yes ! But in this case we talk about Lego decals that are maybe used ones. So what’s the big deal after all? Once again it’s not respectful... please keep this in mind that I totally agree on this. But where is the Lego community spirit or must we see this like a form of showing off? Isn’t it better then that you don’t show anything so you don’t get annoyed that some used your work? Don't belive me? Go ahead, contact the guy. --> Don't worry, I believe you. Yeah but I NEVER would steal someone's decals! All I said that that they were great and I gave credit.Orion Out :skull: --> Don' worry you did the right thing ! Quote
