Mixwizzard The Terrible Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 Agents is ok, but I dont have one set from that line.Alpha team was pure awesomeness. I guess this is where we will bask in the days of yesteryears Quote
Tinn-man Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 Why do we need a discussion topic for a dead theme? Quote
Peppermint_M Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 (edited) Alpha Team was awesome, but Agents is a worthy successor. I loved Alpha Team but couldn't afford any of it. I had a Squid and Skeleguard and Ogel's little ship. I have recently grabbed a few sets on ebay. Agents and Alpha team combine wonderfully though. My favourite set was the helicopter. I liked the plain sets not themed to a certain area. The arctic mission was pants. Agents is fantastic. It has captured my imagination beyond "Awesome, girl characters with names!" as with Alpha Team. With Agents I have hundreds of MOC ideas and plans, I have put some of my Alpha Team characters in Agents uniforms. Alpha Team planted the seed but Agents is my idea tree. Agents is worthy, I would like to see a new super-Villian that will remind us of Ogel. I have Ogels Little ship as well. Most of my sets were from the 2004 artic era except my ogel. I might just check Ebay for some more. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 I've got to say that I like Agents better than Alpha Team. I love all the cliched villains and plots featured in Agents. Now only if they could combine Agents and Dino Attack... Quote
Rijkvv Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 (edited) I like Alpha Team more than Agents. But only the original sets, not Arctic or Mission Deep Sea. I have to say I don't have an Alpha Team set yet, and will not get an Agents one (unless for a very great price) so I can't compare them. By the way, Ogel is the best villain TLG has ever made. :pir-skull: Edited July 3, 2009 by Richie Quote
just2good Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 I have to say I like Agents better then Alpha team. I have only two Alpha team sets, but I have 6 Agents sets. I think Agents is better because in 2.0, it takes place in the city, and has civilians, and awsome villians and agents. Though, Alpha Team is still a great theme. Quote
SlyOwl Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 Alpha Team fell short of its potential due to incredible juniorization in nearly all the sets. However, it paved the way for Agents and an improvement in the storyline-comic section in the manuals (which I like, if no-on else does ). It had a super-villain, drones, orbs, specialised secret-agents, each with their own vehicles (although the transformer stuff in Arctic was a bit too far), and all across a variety of terrains. Jungle wouldn't have gone amiss as Alpha Team 4... I liked it at the time, enough to buy 2 of the smaller sets. The bionicle-esque arms and blades that appeared in some of the sets were cool at the time, but have lost their appeal since. Quote
Luke McAwesome Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 Alpha Team planted the seed but Agents is my idea tree. Very wise words. I wish I could have thought of that, Peppermint_M! And I can't agree more with the rest of your post; Agents is one theme that I think will never get old. Quote

And I can't agree more with the rest of your post; Agents is one theme that I think will never get old. Well, a theme that has captured my attention enough to stop my building any other theme, inspire me to start two of my biggest projects to date and to be happy just sitting and playing with minifigs, this, to me, is everything Lego should be. Today I sat and made new character using spare uniforms, i have two boxes, one full of dark blue, bley and silver, the other full of brown, black and orange. Both ready for me to MOC more Agents. As soon as Lego ends the theme I will be creating new adventures and "sets" on my own (It's successor will have to be something special to get me interested.) Agents is so good that I forgot my disappointment at the ending of Exo-Force. I have yet to intergrate my Alpha Team characters but I have been creating links between the two groups... Quote
CP5670 Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 I liked the original Alpha Team a lot. My favorite set is the 6773 helicopter. Ogel's bomber craft in 6776 is very nice too, although the base is somewhat lacking. The later Deep Sea and Arctic lines were largely forgettable though, except for a few of the Ogel subs. As someone said earlier, the comics were a nice touch too. Agents has some great models like the command truck, but I like the original Alpha Team color scheme better, especially their colored windscreens. Quote
user Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 Agents is worthy, I would like to see a new super-Villian that will remind us of Ogel. Slime-face could be a mutaded Ogel saying he has a red eye just like Ogel! Quote
