takuto20 Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 Hi. We need a subforum on storing/cleaning/repairing Lego. Look at this fake picture I made (the label is fake): I want you all to consider this new hobby: grocery shopping! They have the most amazing packaging for fruits and vegetables... You take the label off, you clean it... and... voil Quote
Lost Viking Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 Lol! That's Awsome! I would love to see LEGO do that, except alot more LEGO would be stolen because that would be easier to open. Remember when LEGO had the flaps at the front and on the inside they had a plastic cover so you could see the parts, well alot of people were cutting it open and taking parts, thats why they dont do that anymore. ;) Quote

SuvieD Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 This looks nice. I would use this if I stored sets but as of now everything is just parts to me. Not to go off topic but I agree with the box size. Some sets are perfect. Others, especially the larger are not sized correctly at all. The are so huge that the parts bounce around and get scratched up. Not good at all. I would think that by making boxes smaller it would save more on shipping. Everyone knows LEGO is not a cheap toy so why try to fool people with big flashy boxes that are filled with air more than LEGO. It makes me more upset to open an almost empty box than to have to pay for a smaller full one. Quote
takuto20 Posted December 15, 2005 Author Posted December 15, 2005 Wow! This is what I was talking about! Quote

xwingyoda Posted December 15, 2005 Posted December 15, 2005 I think that packaging is an area where huge cost reduction should apply (instead of cutting costs on the actual product - on nice bricks !!!). Seriously, today's packaging is ridiculously out of proportion !!!!! It takes loads of shelf space for shops, which means less stocking of sets !!!!! Also considering that the bigger the package is, the more costly its for us, the final consummer !!!!! We need regular square or rectangular packages for shelf space which is more suited for the size of the polybags inside !!!! Quote
mutley777 Posted December 15, 2005 Posted December 15, 2005 it is all a cunning marketing ploy. mum or dad picks up a large box and thinks that will have alot of lego in there. it is a common practice in most packaging to make people think they are getting more than they really are. the clear packaging will just show people how little lego you get for your money.
