prateek Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 (edited) On some sets, the stickers are clear with just the pattern on them, but on other sets, the background of the stickers are coloured in (like on 8448 Technic Super Car reviewed by starstreak). I personally like the clear ones so you can put them on any coloured piece without it looking out of place. I'm leaving out the option of "I don't like stickers" in te poll because almost everyone would pick it. Edited June 28, 2009 by prateek Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 I preffer clear one. You can use it in other bricka as well (You don't have to put it on one collor brick) They stick stronger than paper ones. Even some water don't hurt them. Quote
The Cobra Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 Lordofdragonss said them all. I voted for "clear" stickers. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 Clear. They are nicer to use and they match any coloured base brick. Then again, the solid colour decals that do not match the colour they are "supposed" to be applied to, like the Agents logo stickers, are good too... But as a rule I prefer clear. Quote
ILikePi Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 I prefer clear as opposed to solid stickers, since clear is made of plastic, while solid is a paperish plastic. Also, there won't be any color differences on a brick when a clear sticker is placed on it, while some solid stickers have a completely different shade of color than the brick that they are on. Quote
Sandy Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Of course I prefer for the stickers to be clear, but the bigger problem with the stickers is when they're put over several pieces, meaning that the stickers will have to be removed once I disassemble the set (I always build my new sets, then take them apart after some time). But it seems that TLG has already realized this problem, since the new sets don't have stickers like that anymore. Quote
penguinz Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 I prefer the stickers to be clear for the main reason that it holds up better. A lot of my colored background stickers are peeling off of their bricks, while the clear ones are holding to the bricks just fine. Quote
Darth Legolas Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 I'm not sure. I need to have the studies to prove which one leads more glue on the brick after you've removed it. I never use extra stickers on MOCs, so all that matters to me is the effort it will require to make the brick look new again after you peel off the sticker. Quote
Bartram Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 I like clear better. They blend in better with the pieces when attached. Quote
Cavannus Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 I voted clear because of colour matching and quality. And I like when you can see the bricks behind the sticker (like on the BNSF engine), it looks more "Lego" than with common opaque sheets. Quote
CP5670 Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 I prefer the stickers to be clear for the main reason that it holds up better. A lot of my colored background stickers are peeling off of their bricks, while the clear ones are holding to the bricks just fine. This problem seems to have been solved in recent years. See the entry on stickers here. If this is no longer an issue, white paper stickers are probably better. Clear paper stickers are more durable, but lighter colors such as white and yellow don't look good on them and air bubbles in them are much more visible. Quote
