Ahoy all!

For my film (See sig or clicky here - feedback on that is also appreciated!) i created a couple of probably rather basic ships, which i will probably be dismantling within the next few days to create some slightly better looking and more realistic ships. So, without further ad-do:

H.M.S. Unknown (I.e. i've never got around to thinking of a name ;) )

I will probably completely destroy this ship and rebuild it, making it longer and less "Flat" - also i will probably add custom sails as i have a few extra hull and mast pieces lying around, but just no sails.

My idea of how this ship would function upon the high seas would be as more of a long-distance anti-land vessal, given the high-mounted cannons.

Navire Inconnu (Which is apparently "Ship Unknown" in French, although i appologise if i've said something rude by accident!)

This is admittedly a very simple ship, although given the small size of the hull, i'm struggling to see how it could really be improved upon, other than the sails being better structured and perhaps abit more detail around the front of the ship - any help on this one would be appreciated!

As for how this would function at sea, i would see this as more of a coastal ship for patrolling the area around ports and towns, due to its small size and lack of sleeping space. I would imagine it would be rather quick, though!

"The Dissertation"

This wasnt included in my film, but was a small creation i made on the night that i completed my dissertation at 3am in the morning, and desperately needed something to do before bed which didnt involve staring at a computer screen or reading! (I'm not destroying this one for a good while yet! :pir-tongue: )

Any feedback on any of the ships would be appreciated, in particular the first two as those are the two which will be having work done on them in the near future!

that's not rude, it exactly meant what you said^^

that's some nice ship you have, I like the blue and white one^^

Very good ships! There is much room to improve on with the red ship, but the blue ship looks good! I would advise you make it into a schooner, with an aft sail. if you add more details, like headrails, it will look fabulous! The dissertation is good, but i think that the bow portion that sticks above the hull piece could be a little closer in. It sticks out kinda far, if you know what I mean. other than that, they look good. I look foreward to seeing your progress!

Keep up the good work

Phew! Hehe!

I'm glad people like the blue one. I'll see what detail i can add to it then :)

I agree that the bow is a little out of proportion on the dissertation so will fix that, and as for HMS Unknown, i'll just be taking her apart and starting from scratch ;)

Thanks for the feedback guys!

Funny ships :pir-classic: I like the sails in the view on the back of the blue ship. These small ships are perfect for making movies, they can be moved very easily, are very playable and it's not very hard to get a small fleet. Also the stern on the redcoat ship is nice to see, but I think the spectacles from the captain are a bit too modern :pir-wink:

that is a nice trio of ships, but the French ship,s mast is too tall. i heard somewhere that the mast, when laid down, can not be any longer than the length of the ship, but i like it anyway!

I had indeed thought that the mast is a little on the tall side. I'll probably get rid of the flagpole at the top and find a way to shorten it further! Thanks for the advice! :)
