Righteous Squid Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 (edited) By skillful application of his detectoring skills (looking in the phone book under J) Batman discovered Joker’s lair … the old abandoned Crazy Clown funfair: As he entered a large boulder rolled towards him … he managed to dive aside before it smashed into the door. Where did he get a crazy idea like that? Inside were two arcade machines. The Batman game was on the game over screen. The devastator game was on level one. By skillful application of his detectoring skills Batman decide he would have a go. He got past level one no problem. “Now we take it to the next level” the game announced. But the screen went blank. Behind him he heard a polite metallic cough. He turned to see if someone was waiting to play. When he had defeated the robot wave a door opened, leading him into another room. The floor was polished and slippy. Three men blocked his way – Batman would have to find some way to dodge them. Suddenly the Joker zipped past on a go-kart… Batman found one for himself and gave chase Unable to take the lead Batman follows Joker into the Tunnel of Death And suddenly the funfair isn’t such fun anymore… Looks like joker has escaped again… Took longer than I thought to find time to post this - sorry that its a bit rushed in the end. (I accidentally deleted the first set of pictures I took and couldn’t find time to take more). The crazy clown is a work in progress – trying to use up odds and ends, scrapping the bottom of the lego barrel so to speak. At first I thought I would just do the Clown’s face as a front to a small hideout, then I started to add traps and do it like the Indiana Jones Temple escape set. I scrapped that however and after building the go-karts I though I would like to do something more ambitious – an old abandoned carnival that can be raced around like a Mario Cart course, full of traps and obstacles. Plans include a broken rollercoaster, merry go round, stalls, rides etc. I also would like to do go-karts for each of the Batman villains and Robin. Edited June 24, 2009 by Righteous Squid Quote
Bartram Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Awesome job. Love all of the different carnival aspects you've made! Great work on the arcade games and the amazing bumper cars. Quote
The Penguin Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Nice work as always. ) Though I hate clowns and everything that's related to them, I must say that this MOC is very nice. ) I must say that you found a nice way of making the gester goon look "not-out-of-place" like mine. That was in fact the main reason why I swithed to mimes. ) The go-carts are quite nice too. ) Good day, gentlemen! ) Quote
BlueBard Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Excellent and hilarious little MOCs! My favs are the clown's face at the entry and joker's go-kart Quote
Batbrick Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Another great creation(s) Righteous Squid, as always you never disappoint! Love the Crazy Clown Funfair entrance, suitably intentionally unintentionally diabolical if you know what I mean. That is, it looks like a real fun fair clown face that is unintentionally scary. Wonderful use of the red dish for the nose too, and that trap is simply inspired! The videogames are brilliant, I love that you've included a Batman one, makes sense for Joker's sick humour and for Gotham to capitalise on their own Dark Knight. Excellent use of stickers. The bumper cars are just lovely. The very cute designs, as well as Batman's oh-so-serious one made me laugh in my seat, you've got a wonderful creative mind Love the Jester fig too, I was going to do the same thing with mine, which I just bought the other day in Drawbridge Defense. And of course the finale is great, the concept of Joker and Batman in a not-so-highspeed pursuit is just delightful, and once again the red nose looks great. The colours are also very appropriate. Great job, and hopefully there's still more to come! Batbrick Away! Quote
Tom Bricks Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 These are great. I love the video games and the bumper cars. The clown looks like one from a real theme park, I can't wait for the whole thing. Quote

Commodore Hornbricker Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 Great job! That is a scary clown head hideout. My favorite had to be the Batbumper Car! Quote
GRUMBLECAKES Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 I think I like that Joker-kart best! Errr... If you could, you should definitely make a bigger version of that... Though a larger "clown-nose" might be difficult to find. Quote
