MOC: Police Station #56

Hi there,

i'd like to present you my Police Station #56.

The building was created for the display held in Moscow on 9-30 May 2009 (description in Russian - ask Google/author for the translation). Many thanks to Jan Beyer and legoloverman for paying attention and visiting it.

According to the "modular standard" it has eight studs wide sidewalk and pin connectors (the base size is 32*64 studs):

Excellent creation! It looks huge!

It really looks like a modern police HQ building. The glass stairs tower is fantastic! The landing base for the helicopter is very well executed.

Very nice, very modern. I like the staircase that has the glass windows enclosing it. Only nitpick is the green radar dish, which I see you changed for the expo.

I second the request for interior shots, if any.

The elavator looks great, definitly the highlight of the station, but the helicoptor pad is good too. The only thing I can see that I don't like is the trans-neon satalite dish.

I second the request for interior shots, if any.

Since it was built for the display it had nothing inside (except the "reception" on the first floor).

I've added some features inside, but the area inside is rather limited (2,3,4 floors are only 7 suds wide).

Anyway, my son is using this station in his Batman-themed games. He has given me a lot of building tips - so there MIGHT BE some development. And it will be another MOC.

P.S. Yes, I knew I should't put trans-neon dish :( My fault - couldn't find proper one, had to borrow it from fellow AFOL.

Excellent. The truck in front of it also looks pretty good by the way. I knew Pete (legoloverman) managed to go to a meeting in Moscow, but hadn't seen any pictures yet. Are all the buildings in this line-up yours?

Really nice work. Agree with everyone on the staircase, it's touches like that that make this stand out. I need to get my butt in gear and start working on some City MOCs.

Great Job! I like the way it looks with the rest of your street. It's clearly a newer style building, but it fits with the scale and look of the street. Also, the helipad adds some variety to the street's roofline.

As to the MOC on it's own, the staricase is well done, and the 3-4 distinct portions of the facade make it look even bigger than it is, as does the setback on the second floor. My only suggestion would be to make the sidewalk light grey, and continue it on the other side of the driveway. This will make for a more realistic sidewalk (concrete instead of pavement) and will make a nice contrast between it and the dark grey driveways.
