The Penguin Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 (edited) London, 1890-s. The story takes place in the great Victorian Era. A rare precious gem is stolen! Scotland Yard is at a loss, and only the Great Detective can solve the mystery. The theme may introduce Sherlock Holmes, John Watson and other classical detective stories characters, as well as some historical figures of the era! As for the sets, it can be anything from a big victorian mansion set (withclues and secret places), to a small cab set, so that we can add extra playability to the theme. ) Now to the main characters. Along with classical Sherlock Holmes..... (Like most minifigures in my entry, Mr. Holmes is 100% purist LEGO. And it is the fig to represent the whole theme. The torso comes from Lucius Malfoy of Harry Potter Knockturn Alley set, which represents the costume seen in one of the episodes in Holmes TV series, starring Jeremy Brett. I really liked that "exited" look on the face, so I chose that particular head for Holmes. ) The cape is supposed to show his coat, iwearing which he's frequently seen in movie adaptations. ) And, of course, his classical, hat. Taken from Henry Jones Senior. ) ....Dr.Watson ....to some generic victorian chracters, such as a Policeman .....a pretty victorian Lady ...... and a victorian Gentleman. ) Plus in the theme we will be able to see some historical events. British Colonial Troopers: And some historical figures, such as my favourite Oscar Wilde. ) Thank you for your attention, ladies and gentlemen! ) Edited June 22, 2009 by The Penguin Quote
LuxorV Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 This is a classic I was especting to see Could you give us more details on your entry (Mr. Holmes himself ), like if you used custom decals (sorry if it is an official one, but I can't recognize the torso ). LuxorV Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 Nice work Pinguin, they look very recognizable. The use of the black pith helmet for the Policeman is my favourite detail. Good luck in the contest! Quote
Emperor Claudius Rome Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 Where did you get the black pith? Quote
BlueBard Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 Great! I've allways loved your MFs presentations but I must say those ones are really really great Quote

LuxorV Check out my sigfig. Its from Lucious Malfoy, and appears in three sets. Nockturn's alley, Dobbys release, and promo biplane. Its a fairly uncommon, don't ask me how I got it. Quote
Omicron Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Wouldn't Sherlock Holmes be considered a license? It is a trademark. -Omi Quote
LuxorV Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Wouldn't Sherlock Holmes be considered a license? It is a trademark.-Omi Well, after a bit of research, I have to confirm it . Sherlock Holmes is not eligible as an entry, since it's a license. Sorry. I'll change this into a normal topic for you. You can then make a new entry LuxorV Quote

Good luck in the contest! Thank you! ) Though this entry is, unfortunately, not ligitimate anymore, let's just consider it to be a regular MOC. ) Where did you get the black pith? That's the only custom detail here. ) Great! I've allways loved your MFs presentations but I must say those ones are really really great Thanks a lot! ) Despite the unfortunate turn of events for Mr. Holmes, I still am glad that you like the minifigs. ) Check out my sigfig. Its from Lucious Malfoy, and appears in three sets. Nockturn's alley, Dobbys release, and promo biplane. Its a fairly uncommon, don't ask me how I got it. We won't. Wouldn't Sherlock Holmes be considered a license? It is a trademark. Yep, it seems so. When I was entering I bore in mind a law that a product may be concidered licensed only within the period of 50 years after it's been done. ) But now I see the point, and thye matter is settled. ) Well he could always turn this into a faux-Sherlock Holmes. Like Johnny Thunder was to Indiana Jones. -Omi Well, I might have tried that and called him Erlock Sholmes, but that would go against my ideas of morality. ) So Ilet it just remain as a separate topic. ) Well, after a bit of research, I have to confirm it . Sherlock Holmes is not eligible as an entry, since it's a license. Sorry.I'll change this into a normal topic for you. You can then make a new entry LuxorV Well, that's perfectly ok. ) I see your point and understand it. I must say that I'm not disappointed at all: I'm just glad that I finally made myself make the photos (I have had them ready, weating for some occasion for quite a long time! ) The main goal of all my MOCs, MODs and minifigures is not to show off or boast, but to share some ideas with the members and (if they find them good enough) to give them fun. So, I'm just glad that you liked them! ) Good day, gentlemen! ) Edited June 22, 2009 by The Penguin Quote
