Don't even joke like that, after what Lego did with the "clone scout walker" it's entirely possible :-P Quote

Scouty Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 I wonder why the didn't include Mace, he's an awsome jedi. Quote

Because whereas the Republic Gunship (AKA the LAAT/i) sold on the basis of its identity and role in the movie, Mace was used to make the Turbo Tank desireable. Not that the Turbo Tank is a bad set, just that I think it probably sold more units on the basis of Mace being in it. Quote

You're absolutely right, nobody buys the RG for the generic jedi (maybe for the clones though.) The LULS mace wasn't as good as the newer one and adding more clones definitely increased the appeal of the set. Quote
Scouty Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 BUT! The RGS was made at least 2 years BEFORE the clone turbo tanks, I highly doubt that they'd save him for something they have no clue what they're going put him. Quote
Graynar Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Not to mention that the Republic Gunship came from the time period where LEGO had no flesh tones yet. So putting Mace in the set would not work because he is black. And that would make Mace look funny among yellow raceless people. This mistake was done for real in the LEGO cloud city, with Lando. This is probably why TLC starting producing fleshtones, so yellow minifigures could remain raceless... The new SW sets look great by the way. But the walker is way to expensive -should of had a couple ewoks included. Quote
Vader Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 From what ive read Mace was kept out of the RGS because he was black and lego were extremley worried about a backlash from fans and other groups. So mace wasnt held back for the tank, but i do agree that lego saw an oppertunity to increase the tanks appeal by adding him. On a side note rumor also has it that lando was to be included in the cloud car set but was also pulled out at the last minute. Quote

Really !! It just proves that TLC are so idiotic >:-( It would have been great to have Lando in that set !! Oh well !! At least '07 will not throw upon us numerous Bobas, R2 and other figs that are so unneeded :-D *yoda* Quote
Vader Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 :-D You hope, i will be surprised if we dont get numours figs that weve had before :-| Quote

Scouty Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Not sure what the Cloud Car pilot looks like?? Never see 'em. On the other hand, we get a Bespin guard with printed arms in the new Slave 1 set :-) . Quote
mutley777 Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 this is a action figure of a cloud car pilot. Quote
JoeMI6 Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 Althought GG never flies his starfighter in the film, it's quite obvious that he was aiming to make a getaway in it on Utapau. And he must of flown it at some point during the Clone Wars. I think these new sets (including the ILC) could be paving the way for more Expanded Universe orientated stuff. Or at least, I hope so... ;-) Quote
boxcar3 Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 brickshelf has new pictures of darth vader and stormtrooper busts. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=205573 *vader* :-) Quote

I certainly agree with this - for once the sets at the smaller end of the range are top of my wants list (although my son is doing his boy thing and wants multiples of the droid and clone sets for his armies). I suspect we'll be buying them all. Holly Quote
