Emperor Claudius Rome Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 A lot of us missed out on the armada sub-theme, and most of us will only go a certain length on bricklink when it comes to rare pieces. so, here are some tips on building armada figs without breaking the bank. 1) The KKII shadow knight helmet actually works well as a morion with cheek gaurds. 2) The KKI and current Castle wide-brim helmet just works well with the armada for some reason. 3) The new castle chrome-ish Armor piece is a nice peice for emulating a currise. 4) Some nicee weapons for them as add ons are the spear, the halberd, and the chromesword. Okay, thats it. thanks for reading, Quote
SlyOwl Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Good thoughts It is unlikely that the Conquistadors were an homogenous army in terms of weaponry and armour - they would all have been equipped with what they could afford and preferred. Pikes/halberds are definitely something that Lego should have given them, but didn't. I'll also add that DNL did something similar for his PTV entry last year - Quote
posades Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 The new King torso from Castle could also be used for a wealthy armada fig, though it might be a bit much. Nice suggestions with the other things your mentioned. Quote
Ratshot Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 (edited) Thanks for the suggestions. I only have one armada guy so I need to get some more. Edited June 14, 2009 by Broadside Quote

Tom Bricks Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 Not exactly an accessory but I found that this torso works well for armada troops: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=973px90c01 Quote
