sigmeister Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 My creation is an LAPD cruiser. This vehicle is my own creation, but I tried to build it so that it would look like a Crown Victoria. (Itβs pretty hard to do b/c the Crown Vic is a very shapely, curvy car.) The placement of lights was inspired by actual LAPD vehicles. I tried my best to create this MOC with the limited Lego pieces that I have. I bought several bricks from the Lego pick-a-brick website. Even though some bricks are expensive, I highly recommend their services. I placed my order on a Friday and I received the bricks the following Wednesday. Actual Arjent lightbar. I am aware that the A-pillar is the wrong color. Unfortunately, I do not have those specific bricks in white. (Couldn't find them on Lego's PAB site.) There is room for 4 mini figs in the cruiser. I made this cruiser longer than my previous Highway Patrol MOC. LAPD unit. Most of the LAPD photos I posted belong to Mike Peters. I tried to make the Crown Vic's unique back end. Notice the unique V lights. Slicktop variant Inspiration Back end with the unique amber and blue lights on the driver side, characteristic of LAPD slicktops. Quote
5150 Lego Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Nice moc. I really like how you captured the rear of the Crown Vic. I build Police cars and have installed a few of those Federal Signal Argent light bars. There complete crap. The mirrors fade in less than a year from the sun. Did you know that Blue Amber lights towards the rear is California title 13 law? As is the steady burn red light towards the front. Does LAPD use arrow sticks in there light bars? If so then the only suggjestion i'd make is replacing the rear clear lights that areunder the center section of the light bar with amber bricks. Quote

MY police department should have researched more and invested tax payers' money in better lights. Yea, I know the California law. I just kept the rear lights clear since that's what they look like when the directional lights are off. Thanks for the suggestion though. I know who to go to now if I have questions about emergency lighting. Quote
prateek Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 thats awesome if you lower the roof line by 1 brick height, it'll look almost exactly like a crown vic Quote
